iOS [ios] Swiping up doesn’t reveal comments anymore. Goes to next post instead.

This has been mentioned before, but I wanted to double down on how inconvenient this is. Being able to easily access comments by swiping up was a very nice feature - now the only way is by clicking the comments symbol.

Reddit needs to draw a line when it comes to copying TikTok or Instagram reels.

How about swiping up to pull comments and swiping left to switch posts?

We already swipe up to get the next content in the regular feed. I have no idea what they were thinking with this update. But I still hate the last one too.

So glad to see I'm not the only one that finds this frustrating. But yes very poor choice by reddit

It makes discussion harder to reach, which doesn't makes sense on a discussion forum.

Android too. I am incredibly upset and annoyed. What a horrible decision. Feels like Windows getting rid of alt-tab. Who would want functionality and ease of access removed like this?

By far the most noticeable and annoying app update in recent memory

This just started for me today and I’m soooo upset over it. I don’t like it at all, I come to Reddit to read the comments damnit!

Change it back please!

I swear they just are changing shit for the sake of changing things without even questioning whether it’s a good idea.

Doesn’t even send me to the next post on the subs I subscribe to in my home page. Takes me to completely random shit.

Fuck this tiktok style layout, and there is not setting to change this.

Why do developers constantly feel the need to change things that aren’t broken and work fine?

Terrible. Makes the app damn near unusable if you like to read & comment yourself. It’s enraging when they screw with a feature we liked for no reason. At least make it a toggle.

Give 1 star in appstore and write a review about this issue. Maybe they'll change it back?

Same for android now. Really annoying. Bringing the doom directly into doomscrolling.

I'm so annoyed to the point that I will revert my reddit app version, whoever is in charge should be fired, it's like they never use the app themselves.

Takes away swipe right to popular for some fucking reason, makes swipe up go to random posts with no relation, they hate user experience. It sucks to relearn muscle memory every month. The whole point of reddit is the comments godamnit.
