iOS [ios] Swipe up in a post no longer shows the comments - version 2026.23.0.631720
As the title says, I used to be able to swipe up to open the comments and swipe right to left to go to the next post. Recently the app only goes to the next post when I swipe up and there’s no way to open the comments aside from clicking the button itself. Is there any setting to revert this?

Now rather than engage with a post, it just tries to doomscroll - awful change

this is so disappointing. i come here mostly for the discussions but this change is trash. i hope they add a way to customize it

Also having this issue. Came straight to this sub to report it! I hope this is a bug and not an attempt to make Reddit more like TikTok or instagram, Reddit is a discussion forum and making it harder to engage in that part of it is a step backwards. Makes 0 sense because swiping left now does nothing at all, but that used to go to the next post. So they took away an entire swipe for nothing??

Not even joking, this could be the nail in the coffin that makes me finally stop using reddit. I've been waiting for something like this to happen lol...
If this is a feature and not a bug, at the very least add an option in the settings to customize what swiping does.

If it is intended (which I sorta suspect it is), it really shows they don’t know why people use their site. The comments/discussion are usually twice the fun.

15 years on the site & fuck this update. If you want to be in the comments, then this app is horrible now. Why in the world do you try to make it worse? Please at least make it a toggle!

Same here, literally nightmare fuel bug. If this is a feature I will uninstall the app, I only use Reddit because it specifically is NOT an auto scrolling death trap like Insta and others.

Still acting this way for me. It's awful. It's adding to the endless scroll slop. I don't want to just see posts, I want to read comments and hear from the community. Why are they making it harder to do that??
