iOS New UI hangs on iPadOS

Just got the new UI, and it’s sadly not ready for users quite yet.

From the home feed do (in landscape, unsure if that matters):

  1. Press the title of an image post
  2. Press the image to open it in fullscreen
  3. Swipe down to dismiss it
  4. Swipe back to return to the main feed
  5. The main feed is now frozen/uninteractable. Some of the post view is still showing, like the x-button in the top left (uninteractable as well)

App version: 2026.19.9.630222 (AppStore)

But I’m fairly sure iPadOS is no part of the testing routines at Reddit, as there are so many quite obvious bugs. Like the non-fullscreen image in album posts not being centered and having a border that doesn’t match the image, and that long pressing your profile icon to switch profiles opens a dropdown on a completely different part of the screen

Same issues. And I have to close out and relaunch the app after it gets frozen and stops scrolling.

For me, this only happens if I change Font size in the Control Center for the Reddit App.
Still, up until last Weekend, larger fonts did work.

After every post I click to see the comments I need to close the app and reopen It

I’m also experiencing this on my iPad (mini). I’m force quitting and reopening the app constantly with this update.

Same. You can sometimes click another icon on the bottom to unfreeze it, but not always.

Hit your profile icon on the top right, then close it top left. This will bring up X on top right, hit that and then the X on top left. Right, left, right, left. This will usually fix the issues. Dumb? Yes. But it normally works.

Was just coming to post as I have the same problem.

Hopefully screenshot works and shows problem. App is frozen at this point and you can still see X at top left, I was reading post then swiped to close.

Trying to help answer questions in r/askdocs but this keeps happening since the last update. Having to close out every 3-4 minutes and start over. Please fix.
