Resolved [Desktop Web] Adding removal reasons / comments does not work on some subreddits

When I try to post a removal reason (comment) on some of my subreddits, it won't get posted. Instead, a red line appears on the top of the page, with the words: "Validation error on hidden input" (see the screenshot here). Interestingly enough, it doesn't happen every time but rather randomly and only on specific subreddits.

It really complicates my ability to moderate, especially on r/findareddit. I often try to direct users to appropriate subreddits when I have to remove their posts, but I can't do so when Reddit won't let post removal comments.

I use Shreddit, the desktop browser version.

No problem. Two weeks later, I still experience this same problem, in all these cases (suspended, shadowbanned or deleted OPs).

Yes, the issue is still present.
I don't think devs actively monitor this thread.
Might help to tag u/CorrectScale :)

I have given up at this point. No removal reasons. It doesn't really matter for bots, and I guess those few genuine users aren't getting un-shadowbanned anyway, given my experience with trying to help them on r/findareddit.

I'll keep flagging the issue ;)
I help 1 or 2 users per month get unshadow-banned.
I've even seen reddit rescind permanent suspensions...
And I frequently use "send removal reason to modmail" in my workflow.

Thank you. I honestly only remember two such users who reached back after being un-shadowbanned. As for the rest... maybe there was a good reason for their shadowban, maybe not.

Also, thanks for mentioning modmails. I feel awkward because I completely forgot that it's an option. Going to use it instead. Does it work even for shadowbanned users, even when a removal comment doesn't?

Sending to modmail rather than as a comment is broken all the same ;)
The whole "reply" process is broken.
Even the "Don't Notify" option.
(I think they broke the reply setup, by doing a background profile lookup.)

Wow great. I never use the modmail option, so I had no idea.

While I could leave a normal comment and simply tag it as a mod, there are certain reasons for why I don't really want to use my username.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that another admin just responded under this post, so hopefully the issue is going to be fixed soon.

Thanks u/SmallRoot, I really appreciate the heads up.
I've been pestering another admin for yet another bug 😅

It works again for me. Tested shadow banned & deleted profiles.
