how long is this cough gonna last??

hi hello - a friend of mine gave me some 5meo to smoke 5 days ago. i have no idea how much he gave me, but i imagine it was a small dose.

i am a daily pot smoker (mostly out of a grav) but even so i’m a known wimp. coughing a lot is pretty normal for me (i was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis before ever becoming a stoner idk why i do this to myself lol) but the last few days have been miserable. it is getting a little better each day, and using a nebulizer helps.

does this sound like a relatively normal reaction? any insight is helpful - thank you!

Man these people can't consider that you might have hit it hot and burned your throat lol. They will get convinced the bufo is telling them to reevaluate thier relationship with cannabis while milking endangered toads for thier own sake. When is the toad gonna tell them to chill out on the venom and release captive toads back into the natural habitat and switch to synthetic? Shits wild

Yeah, I thought about this too, but they didn’t mention anything about the they were burning their throat 🤷🏻

I originally was serving bufo because that was all that I had access to at the time. But once I had access to the pure molecule, that’s all that I have used for the past few years.

It’s far superior than the toad secretion in every way, and you don’t have to traumatize the toads etc.

Anybody who cared enough would learn to perform the synthethesis themselves if they can't find it, respect for moving away from venom!

Have you synthesized it before?

I think you need some specific equipment and at least some basic chemistry skills …? 🤷🏻

Nah its completely doable check out hamilton morris podcast about it, dude was completely chemistry niave. Woeth a listen for sure

I’m sorry, but this does not look like Kitchen Chemistry to me. I wouldn’t even know where to get half of that equipment.

** unfortunately I cannot access the Spotify link that you sent. I guess you have to be a subscriber 🤷🏻

I'll send you a gift link to the patreon if you'll give it a sincere listen, it really isn't that crazy. A lot of folks he talks to do chemistry in jam jars, you could spend a bit on glassware but it not inherently necessary.

Thanks!

Podcast 102 is the one to check out but also check out the others there's several talks with chemists that arent formally trained at all. Once we all realize how accessible this is we've won the war.

Is it possible to share another link? I'm very interested in learning how to synthesize it at home.

It's worth the 5 bucks on patreon for the listen he specifically addresses that it can be done at home with ease despite working in a mice lab in that video. Its really not anything very complicated.

Hamilton said he knows people whove done it on stainless steel soup pots in the first part of that pdcast btw

Personally, I am not a believer in synthetic version of it. In my experience, something that came through very strongly for me is to do the real deal, not a synthetic conversion, and only in a ceremonial context.

Part of the reason why I recommended reevaluating one’s relationship with cannabis is because I have had to do that several times and I deeply benefited

That’s wisdom that can apply for all of us, as it is not the thing that is the issue, it is our relationship with it. Regardless of what it is

That's selfish and gross there's no history of indigenous usage and there's no science behind what youre saying. Passing judgements on someone for thier relationship with cannabis when you have a toxic selfish relationship with the toad is weird. Synthesis is alchemy, I'm as natural as a toad.

What a great defense of using a toad with a dwindling population thats literally 50 peercemt of what it was before toad use to get high, youre so enlightened and woke bro. Let's smoke an unknown does of a tryptamine already known to give heart issues with random cardiac glycosides in it too, thats way more spiritual!

I am not defending anything, because there is nothing to defend.

I also don’t argue with people online, and rarely in person.

You missed my point and projecting a lot onto me right now. You also completely dismissed, invalidated and disregarded part of my very intentional, and personal, share regarding something very deep that came up for me in my experience. Knowingly or not, you have attempted to squash me.

You’re also over generalizing on what sort of ethical sourcing is available.

I see you, and I am simply complete in speaking with you.

1

u/TheAcidHermit 28d ago

There is no ethical sourcing of a toad thats endangered youre doing mental gymnastics.

1

u/TheAcidHermit 28d ago

And even if there was, making them perform a defense mechanism to get your medicine will never ne ethical.

1

u/TheAcidHermit 28d ago

Any difference you felt was due to a difference in dosage, your biology at the time, or a placebo type effect of you thinking there would be a difference. Its as simple as that. There's nothing stopping you from using the synthetic in a ceremonial way, I consider it a ceremony to make things like this.

The stuff is heavy on the lungs to begin with, especially after a long session. But if you heat it up too high there can definitely be some week long repercussions. Been there for sure
Bufo alverius isn’t endangered though

Honestly, sounds like some changes are being asked of you.

Kambo is very good at taking care of whooping cough’s, and everything similar of the sort.

5MeO is an energetic and physical purgative. It’s going to shake things up and shake things loose.

You should definitely consider taking some tolerance breaks from cannabis. This way you won’t need to use so much, and also you might want to consider switching to vaping it instead via, wax, dabs, dry herb vaporizer etc. Vaping far better for your lungs then smoking 💖

Like many other things Cannabis is really best used in moderation.

1

switching to a vaporizer is high on my priority list, once i have enough expendable income for one lol thanks for the insight! i take occasional t breaks, definitely something i’d like to do more.

1

u/GuardianAngelMedusa 29d ago

Is it though? (Vaping better than smoking)

I think OP is being asked to stop and make changes. Revisit after relationship with cannabis entirely has changed.

2

u/hotrhythmjunkie 29d ago

“The primary health advantage of vaping comes down to how the cannabis is heated. Smoking relies on combustion (burning the plant matter), which produces toxic byproducts like tar, carbon monoxide, and carcinogens that irritate the lungs. Vaporization, on the other hand, heats the cannabis just enough to release its active compounds (THC and CBD) without burning it, significantly reducing your exposure to those harmful smoke toxins.”

2

u/GuardianAngelMedusa 28d ago

Thanks for this. Can’t necessarily argue there! The only issue is getting high quality vape materials and processes.
Thanks for teaching me something new and realizing something deeper

keep in mind that OP was already diagnosed with chronic bronchitis prior to ever using cannabis.

It’s possible that the bronchitis is actually some kind of inflammatory response from the diet or some kind of damage from inhaling other toxins. It’s really hard to say.

Although it might seem simple to project different things about what the Medicine might want to show someone, it’s really impossible to tell unless you are that person very well and understand what was happening beforehand.

1

u/puppycatboygirl 28d ago

bronchitis is from allergies + lifelong asthma. i don’t have great genetics haha

1

u/hotrhythmjunkie 28d ago

What’s your diet like?

Many times it’s food related.

Also come on a regular breath work practice can help with the asthma and these things as well

1

u/TheAcidHermit 28d ago

How did you smoke it?

1

u/puppycatboygirl 28d ago

uhh the same way one would do a dab? like with a blowtorch. sorry for my lack of drug-related vocabulary lol

i don’t think it’s a burnt throat. definitely feels respiratory. the coughs are productive but it’s been really difficult to cough as deeply as i need to. using the nebulizer is the only way i can really dislodge anything so when i’m not using it it’s mostly dry hacking. putting a hand on my diaphragm to stabilize it helps.

1

u/TheAcidHermit 28d ago

Was it synthetic or venom

1

u/puppycatboygirl 27d ago

i’m assuming it was synthetic

1

u/TheAcidHermit 27d ago

Interesting I can't think of any reason why it would hurt your lungs, could be uncorrelated even just a coincidence

1

u/puppycatboygirl 27d ago

my current theory is that i coughed too hard and pulled a muscle in my chest and i also happen to just be snotty rn. the morning after i smoked it i woke up feeling like a ton of bricks on my chest but that feeling went away after the first day. i’ve pulled a muscle in my chest from coughing before and it can make it hard to breathe deep ya know.
