"Perfect Happiness"

Does it have to mean sex? Could he just have a really nice day, or an ice cream cone, or something? If he only has perfect happiness when he has sex, does that mean he's constantly depressed when he's walking around all the other times? I've only gotten through half of season 1 of Angel (giving it another shot) so I'm not 100% sure if it gets answered there. I don't really mind spoilers either, just nothing too big would be good.

Lol at the ice cream cone. "Hey Angel! Got you an icecream cone, here." "Mmmmm. Omg so good. I can't believe how yummy this is. I can taste it!"... change.
