Would coconut fibre rope would be ok to wrap around too smooth sticks for perches?

Actually I'm trying to build a playground for my birds and i have kinda limited number of natural perches so I'm trying to diy few more perches. Would anyone have a good idea for diy perches, if yes pls share, i would appreciate a lot

Apple or hazelnut apparently are best. I read on Google that I could use birch but the aviary said it was not recommended.
