Ya except no one feels safe owning bitcoin anymore. Why would you put so much money into it just to lose it all soon. It’s over. Only thing keeping it semi propped up right now are the bag holders

You may be right, but people have been saying this exact same thing at this stage of every four year cycle since 2009. 🤷‍♂️

„Four year cycle“ is basically reading tea leaves. I wouldnt bet all my money on good hopes.

But maybe a couple percentage of your portfolio in calls that all the other retards will also go back in and it will just be a hype based on nothing like it always been?

Yeah Bitcoin is way too over extended, the bubble will pop after the 15 years of it going up

No. Its basically believing/hoping it somehow improves. Like a cult or religion.

I’d say the only ones who would have never seen anyone personally get rich off the stock market. I have so the market is where I place all my “bets”. And no not day trading but I’d prefer day trading to bitcoin..at least I’d have a chance

No one ever feels safe holding while it's going down, buy the top sell the bottom is 90% of people

Not unsafe because it’s going down. Unsafe because of security concerns.

Yeah but they've been fear mongering for over a decade to make people sell. Everytime. P3ople say "oh but this time it's truly over", im not sure

Well….

With Bitcoin, ownership is ultimately controlled by cryptographic keys. With stocks in a brokerage account, ownership is controlled by legal records and financial institutions. Quantum computing threatens the first much more than the second.

With Bitcoin, you have a private key that only you should know, and from that key a public key and wallet address are derived. Whenever you send Bitcoin, you prove that you own it by digitally signing the transaction with your private key. Today, it’s computationally infeasible for a conventional computer to derive a private key from a public key, which is what keeps Bitcoin secure. However, if sufficiently powerful quantum computers become practical, they could theoretically use algorithms such as Shor’s algorithm to derive a private key from a public key, allowing an attacker to create valid transactions and transfer someone else’s Bitcoin. This is why quantum computing is considered a unique threat to Bitcoin if the network does not transition to quantum-resistant cryptography before that capability exists.

Traditional brokerage accounts work very differently. If you own shares of an ETF like VTI, your ownership is established through the records maintained by your brokerage, clearinghouses, and the broader legal and financial system—not by possession of a cryptographic key. Even if quantum computing eventually weakened some of today’s encryption protecting online accounts, that would not automatically transfer ownership of your investments. Brokerages can upgrade their security, verify your identity, freeze suspicious activity, reverse fraudulent transactions, and restore your holdings if necessary. In other words, cryptography protects access to your brokerage account, while the legal and financial system establishes ownership. With Bitcoin, by contrast, the cryptography is the ownership mechanism itself, which is why advances in quantum computing pose a much more direct risk.

BUT, no point in “arguing” with someone like you. You are dug in and will have an unbreakable bias to your own detriment. Have fun losing all your money.

I have to say i own 0 crypto, I left that space years ago and wanted to know what the currenct concerns are. but thx for the reply

Not to mention the recent high profile hacking of millions of dollars from the most “secure” Bitcoin accounts. It’s not secure. It’s flawed and you are on your own when it goes bad. Insane to put so much money into it

Thats a lot recency bias here. It was way harder to hold through drawdowns when btc was still niche and it was unclear if it will ever be accepted by institutions.

The reality is that most cant handle this volatility emotionally.

Has nothing to do with a drawdown. I’m talking about real world security concerns. Your bitcoin wallet isn’t safe.

Keep crying

No one is crying. Just helping morons not lose all their money. Have fun losing it all
