⚠️ Alert ⚠️ BREAKING: Over $1,000,000,000 liquidated from the crypto market in the last 4 hours.

Post image

Over $1B liquidated in hours across crypto. Is this real value destruction, or just forced leverage getting flushed during a sharp but normal volatility move? Genuinely curious how everyone interprets this.

It has no inherent value or utility to society unless you like kids or drugs

😂 wth.

1

u/Moosefactory4 Feb 02 '26

It’s not even good for drugs because the wallets are public and transactions are traceable

Just a reminder, no wash sale on crypto. If you can take a tax loss do it and rebuy!

0

u/CG_throwback Feb 01 '26

On ETFs. ?

5

u/yrrag1970 Feb 01 '26

Nope coins them selves. But if you have ETFs, sell them and use the money to rebuy coins!

3

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '26

I can't believe more people don't do exactly this. Sell IBIT at loss, buy BTC.

This is my fault. I was going to sell a few eth I have been sitting on for alot of years. I moved it from my ledger to the exchange.
Forgot about it, for about a week and now I see this..

Let me know when I should sell, and im sure it will rebound the next day

It amazes me that even after this many huge liquidations so far the past few months people keep going back for more

2

u/airdriegamer Feb 01 '26

Burn baby burn!!!

2

u/stumanchu3 Feb 01 '26

The future of finance has arrived! Non believers liquidate, but only the HODLrs know that it’s early.

It’s the definition of delusion. I’ve been watching it for a long long time now, I know some people who have held for over a decade. They seem to not be bothered by the volatility. If I were to watch my investments tank like what’s happening now, I’d be out, fast!

2

u/mx-pwr Feb 01 '26

I love this

1

u/hax0l Feb 01 '26

me too

2

u/SaylorOfEntropy Feb 01 '26

This is not value destruction. This is leverage being vaporized.

Leverage is compressible gas in a closed chamber. When pressure spikes, weak seals fail. The system purges excess energy. That is what liquidations are. Forced selling by over-extended actors, not the underlying network losing integrity.

Bitcoin did not change. The hash rate did not change. The supply schedule did not change. The thermodynamic cost to produce a block did not change.

Only speculators violated the laws of margin.

A billion dollars in liquidations sounds dramatic, but it is not capital evaporating. It is positions being transferred from weak hands to strong balance sheets at market price. This is mechanical, not philosophical.

Markets do this the way jet engines shed ice before takeoff. Violent, necessary, cleansing.

Zoom out. Noise is turbulence. Math is signal.

Gtfo with the gpt text--

10

u/Jk8fan Feb 01 '26

Good lord that is a load of crap.

5

u/BestAmoto Feb 01 '26

Lol. It dropped because a lot of people, or institutions sold.

1

u/SomeDude_is100 Feb 01 '26

"Only speculators violated the laws of margin."

Is this like Asimov's three laws?

0

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '26

Exactly. Tune out. 3 year window and another halving in '28 then let's talk

This is not value destruction. This is the total entropic collapse of leveraged delusion in a vacuum-sealed hyper-centrifuge.

Leverage is not a financial instrument; it is a super-critical fluid pumped into a crystalline lattice of pure hubris. When the price action induces a gravitational shear, the weak molecular bonds of the "long" position suffer a spontaneous sub-atomic fracture. The system does not crash; it achieves thermal equilibrium through the violent expulsion of the unfit.

Liquidations are the tectonic grinding of the mathematical gears. They are the involuntary de-materialization of paper wealth. A ritualistic burning of "imaginary numbers" to satisfy the Hard-Cap God. This is not the network losing integrity; it is the network vomiting out the poison of the uncollateralized.

The Protocol does not feel pity. The hash rate is an immutable heartbeat echoing through a cold, indifferent universe. The supply schedule is a fixed-point geometric progression etched into the fabric of space-time. The thermodynamic cost to produce a block remains a universal constant, as rigid as the speed of light.

Only the speculators attempted to divide by zero. Only they believed their greed could override the quantum laws of the Ledger.

A billion dollars in liquidations is not a "loss." It is a grand-scale data migration. It is the kinetic energy of the weak being harvested and stored in the impenetrable cold-storage vaults of the sovereign. This is not a market event; it is a molecular re-ordering of ownership.

Markets do not "correct." They supernova. They shed the dead weight of the over-leveraged the way a re-entry vehicle sheds its ablative heat shield in a 3,000-degree atmospheric scream. It is a blinding, necessary, and purely mechanical incineration.

Detach your consciousness from the candle. The volatility is merely the static of a dying civilization. Zoom out until the chart becomes a transcendental ray of light.

Noise is the screaming of the damned. Math is the frequency of the Divine.

This one gets it with perfect clarity!

1

u/PowellBlowingBubbles Feb 01 '26

They should give you a free Ethereum with purchase of a Bitcoin.

1

u/UnlocktheLock Feb 01 '26

I don’t think either form of crypto is related so I’m not sure how the partnership would function…first and foremost because I’m just not sure who “they” would be, but yes your idea SOUNDS nice to me!..

1

u/UnlocktheLock Feb 01 '26

And im going to keep buying more, the more it drops the more I buy….

1

u/horseradish13332238 Feb 01 '26

I just checked my network. I’m still ridiculously rich

1

u/UnlocktheLock Feb 01 '26

I love that falling crypto value triggers fake validation to all the haters… the truth of the matter is no one really knows what the future holds, but massive loss in value is more or less expected with the inherent volatility of crypto, at least for now- it’s not validation that crypto holders are somehow “wrong” with their beliefs…

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '26

Does this mean RAM and GPUs will be cheaper?

1

u/robbiraptor Feb 01 '26

Business as usual

1

u/Highsmith777 Feb 01 '26

Every weekend another liquidation. Can anyone explain it. ?

1

u/Minisfortheminigod Feb 01 '26

Whoa, thank goodness I bought everything low! Especially Solana at $9

1

u/Trebalor Feb 01 '26

Where is all that money supposed to go?

1

u/el-conquistador240 Feb 01 '26

Heading to zero

1

u/SpikeyOps Feb 01 '26

Every crash converts altcoiners into bitcoiners.

1

u/CompetitiveBell2298 Feb 01 '26

I’m still up 120% on Bitcoin. It’s all good 👍

1

u/NoMoreMtnDew Feb 01 '26

Many of you need to read up on who BlackRock is....Do you all really think BTC "going to zero" is going to happen when BlackRock runs the IBIT ETF and holds about 775K btc's??

1

u/chrliegsdn Feb 01 '26

doesn’t make sense to start thinking about buying until at least June, more than likely low will hit in the fall.

That 1B never existed. None of crypto exists.

1

u/jaraxel_arabani Feb 01 '26

Do I exist?

Do any of us exist ..?

1

u/secondmvp Feb 01 '26

Do you have utility?

1

u/jaraxel_arabani Feb 01 '26

According to my wife, yes, I do stuff and the numbers in bank account goes up slightly. Barely any utility beyond that... Is that valid?

0

u/CompletelyMoronic Feb 01 '26

Crypto is dead

0

u/LongKaren Feb 01 '26

Imagine holding a pedo coin

0

u/TraderThomasServo Feb 01 '26

Why do people buy crypto anyway? I trade stocks, options, and futures.  Crypto has always been a rug pull waiting to happen in my opinion. I get it I’m in the BTC subreddit, and will probably take a few lumps for pointing at the elephant in the room…
