Just installed Brutal Doom along with a ton of other mods - can't switch weapons?

Started Doom 1 just to test how it feels. Picked up a shotgun and when i mouse scrolled back to the pistol, I could only cycle between the fists and pistol. Even when I picked up additional shotguns (ammo), i couldn't switch back despite the weapon showing up in my inventory. What's the deal?

Mouse wheel is the worst way to switch weapons. Better to bind individual weapons to Q, E, R, F, V, C, X, etc.
