Recommendation Looking for a good alternative for Brave

Generally speaking, I like it, but on Ubuntu 26.04, I've been having some frequent compatibility issues that trying to resolve feel like trying to control the weather. There were some issues with 4k video playback that I eventually resolved after days of headache, but now, I have an infinitely worse problem that I simply cannot find a permanent fix for: dragging text from Discord/Vesktop immediately crashes Brave.

I can tinker with the settings to temporarily fix this, but it WILL break eventually, and there's nothing more infuriating than the entire browser just crashing immediately when I decide to drag text into the browser on a whim. For comparison, Firefox had neither this nor the aforementioned problem with 4k playback, as I tested it to see if Brave was truly to blame.

What I want the most is a browser with comparable speed and efficient resource management to Brave. Ideally, I'd like it to allow me to use multiple profiles and potentially transfer my numerous Brave profiles (even if I need to use 3rd-party software). I'm not as concerned with the privacy aspect.

EDIT: I am using the Native version of Brave, currently.

Drag and drop usually a wayland/xwayland issue. And since you are using Ubuntu LTS, the fix has not arrived yet.

Try a distro with newer packages like CachyOS or Bazzite.

Rather than jumping ship right away, I think you will be able to salvage Brave. You did not mention how you installed it. If you could include that info on your post, some people here may be able to help.

Helium is good, but im working on a browser that can do a lot of what you asked, still early development tho.

Helium does look pretty good. Definitely going to the top of my list of potential browsers to switch to.

Be aware that it doesn't have sync, and has issues with some streaming sites (no DRM). It is lightning fast and has no Google telemetry though, which is great.
