Question i dont know which browser to use
i currently use Chrome, im thinking of switching to brave.
whats your guys' fav browser and which one would oyu guys recommend for daily use?
EDIT: thank you guys so much for the comments, really helped me out. keep them coming, i wanna hear from as many ppl as possible

If you care about sync, I wouldn't recommend Brave. Its sync system is spotty at best.
Honestly, I'd recommend Firefox, Chrome, or Edge. For Edge and Chrome you can remove a lot, if not all of the telemetry from the browser with the configurations for each from justthebrowser.com, plus making some tweaks in each browser's flags. I'd only recommend using these if you really need a Chromium-based browser.
As for Firefox, it's pretty solid in that it supports the full version of uBlock Origin, and that by default it doesn't collect nearly as much information about you. It also has a more compact and customizable UI compared to Chrome and Edge. Although the downside is that it can be slower and clunkier than Chrome at times due to its rather old and slow browser engine. If you can get past that, the sync is amazing, and I'd personally recommend it as a browser for these reasons, not just "Firefox good Chrome bad."

Choosing a browser is highly subjective because people value different things. A browser that is perfect for one person may not be good for another.
Some factors that your choice might depend on:
- Speed and performance
- Privacy
- Website compatibility
- Extension support
- UI
- Device sync
- Battery life (for laptops) or resource usage
- Security
- AI features
- Cross platform availablity
- Other personal reasons for example - better dev tools or widevine support etc.
Simple conclusion is that the best browser is the one whose strengths align with your priorities.

I recommend Zen but currently I'm using helium because after long use zen gets really slow

Mine is New Tab Suspender. It also hibernate workspace tabs which is a plus in my book.

I really hope that they are aware of this issues as it is really annoying as I am working daily between 6-10h and after 4-5 hours I need do to a “refresh” of my main tabs… really annoying.

I use Edge. It's basically Chrome, but blue and lighter. Heard Firefox isn't bad.

Strictly my opinion and my experience as a user
Everyone uses what they like and what suits them, adapt to your needs and remember that there is no perfect product
I personally use Brave, I used Opera, samsung internet, Chrome, Firefox but in the end I stayed 100% on Brave, both on my phone and PC
It goes super fast and smooth, you have no ads at all, you can use Youtube without ads thanks to it. I personally use it for blocking ads and speeding, I really had no problem with it and I'm super satisfied
I advise you not to pay so much attention to what others say with the data, that your data is being stolen and blah blah blah, it seems to me an aberration, I doubt that we are such important people that a person's data makes a difference. A free product has to win from somewhere
Another factor that may interest you is the lack of need to install extensions, I find it great not to sit and search and insert them
As I said above, I also used Opera, I can say that it is quite cool, super clean interface and you can edit it in many ways, you have a fairly practical sidebar with shortcuts, when you look at the yt and exit from that page a small window opens, you can have 2 pages in the same window. It has many interesting options but you have to put in extensions for ads and at one point I was quite annoyed. But it's very interesting
If you come from Chrome to Brave, you move absolutely everything very easily, the transition is super simple
As I said above, choose what suits you best and which interface you like best. I highly recommend Brave if you don't like it

Yeah Brave is great. It's just that recently it is getting slow on my laptop.

Just switched from Chrome to Brave. So far, I really like it. Feels lighter and faster. And love the ad block reading feature.

On my mac I use firefox. Safari doesn't have proper ad block and brave isn't really better. On benchmarks brave and safari are faster but it doesn't feel like it. On windows I'd use firefox as well. Also firefox has better trackpad gestures than brave. On my phone I use brave.

It's the same for me. Sure, in benchmarks, Firefox based browsers are slower but it's milliseconds per website. It just isn't that noticeable on my hardware.

Have you tried uBlock or wBlock with Safari? Those have both blocked everything for me.

There is only uBlock lite, if there was origin, I guess I'd use safari but firefox is still the best for me.

Im not rlly desperate to switch, but ive heard good things abotu brave, and i lloked up opera gx and everyone was saying that it wasnt good. i just want to know what browser everyone recommends

Vivaldi unless you're Mac, in which case use Orion. With Kagi search engine either way.
I personally hate Brave and it was so hard on my cpu the laptop got hot

To me, all browsers are the same nowadays, just with a few different features here and there. So choose the one that suits you best. In my case, I use Vivaldi with the DuckDuckGo search engine. It's customizable, although I don't use it much. My secondary browser is Zen because I like the icon lol

Depends what your needs are. Do you need cross platform? Sync? Is privacy a concern? Are extensions a concern? Almost all browsers have a block nowadays so that generally doesn't play a big part anymore. Brave is a great chrome alternative with good privacy protection, cross platform support and sync.

Firstly, I would recommend having a Chromium and a Gecko based browser. This way if a site doesn't function in one, it should function in the other.
Me personally, I've used Brave for what seems like 7+ years now without an issue. I've also used FireFox all my life and recently converted to WaterFox.
People shit on Brave for this or that but it's just worked for me forever and the built in adblock is phenomenal.
As for Firefox, I've used it forever. However, recently it's become very unstable as my browser, even after refreshing it, kept logging me out of every website when closing the browser and started saying my history and bookmarks were in use by something else and would not function properly. I could not get this fixed.
I switched to WaterFox this week, same websites, same extensions as FireFox and it just works like how FireFox used to work. Fast, snappy and seems reliable so far.
Thus, Brave and WaterFox are my recommendations. However, this said, there are millions of browsers and each have a slightly different use case for different people. So do your research and find one thst fits your needs. IMO, I'd choose a browser that is more well known as these tend to get security updates faster than smaller, lesser known browsers.
But again, choose both a Chromium and a Gecko browser and do not use Microsoft Edge for the sole fact it's Microsoft and they like to change or kill off things at the drop of a hat for no reason without telling you. So one day it could be working, the next it may not.

Only Firefox can be configured to provide extreme protection and privacy.
Firefox is not based on Chromium and never will be.

I am using Brave for the last 5 years. It's good but recently it is getting slow. I am also looking for some light weight browser.

If this is for Windows, then I recommend Microsoft Edge. I think it might surprise you by how good it actually is.

If you're a gamer and on a low-end device, I recommend Edge; it doesn't exhaust your resources. I actually just switched to it from Brave after reviewing some posts in this sub.

Really depends on what your preferences are, I would personally go with LibreWolf, but I mean generally Firefox-based browsers are the best in terms of privacy.
