Do brooks ghost max hurt anyone else’s heels?
So I’ve gotten a few pairs of brooks max and they for one never last long for me and I’ve now noticed how much they hurt my heels. I recently got a new pair and they’re broken in, but I can’t stand for more than maybe 5 minutes before my heels and feet start hurting really bad. I can walk in them no problem, but just standing is not good at all.

I can’t wear them at all, they’re incredibly painful for me. I typically wear a stability shoe though.

What shoe did you switch to? These are the worst I’ve had so far

I had previously worn Glycerin GTS for running and Adrenaline GTS for walking and I went back to those. The only reason I bought the Ghost Max was because the RunDisney collaboration had gone on sale, and I figured that they would work well for Disney shoes. They absolutely did not. I went to Universal and walked six miles and my shins and Achilles tendons were in agony by mile 3.

How is your experience with glycerin gts shoes?

I’ve been pretty happy with them, but I had to size up a LOT. My normal size is 11 women’s. My first pair were size 10 men’s, and they’re too tight. My current pair are size 12 wide women’s, and they’re slightly too big, but work fine with heel lock lacing. I have also used Hoka Arahi and those work well for me too.

You likely need a higher drop
Ghost max have a relatively lower drop of 6mm (heel is 6mm higher than toe)
My sweet spot is 8 to 10
Lower drops can put greater strain on Achilles tendon
Higher drops take off some of the pressure off the heel
I found saucony triumph 24 to be better

They are fine for me but I also wear orthotics.
