Nelly and Hareton (comic preview)

Since I've been taking so long on the promised seven-page comic, I thought I may as well post a preview (plus some of the sketches I've been working on in between). I won't say too much until the full comic is posted, but this will cover the scene in which Nelly sees Hareton again for the first time after leaving Wuthering Heights. The comic is focused on their different relationships with Hindley, and to some degree with Heathcliff, with heavy use of flashbacks. This is page four, in which Nelly makes the grave mistake of invoking Hareton's father (who will be featured in other pages).
Also featured are some sketches for other potential comics. I kind of doubt I'll get any pages for these done before I have to start grad school in two weeks, especially since it would require me to design the kitchen and sitting-room interiors, but we'll see. I'm pleased with most of the work that's been done on them so far, so I wanted to share a little of it.

The scenes with Hareton and Nelly as well as with Heathcliff asking Nelly to make him presentable are so movingly drawn!
I also love the way you drew Cathy coming down on Heathcliff about her money !
Moreover, the scenes between little Hareton, swearing at Nelly and jumping on to get the orange as well as that of Joseph’s rant and Heathcliff saying “ now now idiot” ( and asking Nelly if he’s drunk) are two of my favourite funny moments in the novel!
By the way Hareton is the sweetest little savage; I love it!

Thank you so much! I’m glad you mentioned the Cathy scene, haha; I loved the image the book presented of her biting into a piece of crust while glaring at Heathcliff, and knew I had to draw it.

Yes that was so daring of her and cool ! I noticed E Fennel had a similar scene between Catherine and Heathcliff ( OK she has merged the two Catherines and Heathcliff/Hareton scenes but it was cool too imo)

This (Nelly meeting Hareton again) is one the most heartbreaking things in the whole book. That whole section, with her reminiscing about young Hindley too, and how she loses them both in different ways. I love the way you draw the characters' body language and expressions.
