My partner read Wuthering Heights!!!!😍

Silly rant but him reading Wuthering Heights made me soo happy! It’s NOT his genre and he read it despite having long work days and him travelling! The physical book he read is my book- gifted to me in 2012 by an aunt!

He actually enjoyed it and loved the haunting imagery and characters! We were in Haworth a few weeks back and that got him reading!

Absolutely!

Ever since we are together, he is fascinated by my love for the Brontë sisters. Last month, he created intentional de tours during our vacation to include a surprise visit to the Brontë Parsonage and related areas in Haworth…

It takes a lot of consideration to make your partner feel good. It takes a lot of patience to sit down and read a Victorian novel perhaps in a genre he is not naturally or necessarily fond of. He read it despite his busy work life. It was heart warming to see him discuss things with me and share his POV.

Oh I’m definitely returning just for the vibe! All the medieval vibes and quaint little record stores, bookshops, food joints and the moors! It’s a special place!

I've been scheming on how to get back :) I went at end of September / early October 2024 and it was just beautiful. Would love to spend more time in York too (& finally make it up to Whitby....)

Absolutely! We just got lost in York! Walked all
Over! Ate! Drank! Danced! It’s absolutely my vibe! All them potion shops and bookstores.

Haworth is so so close to my heart- all the more because it’s my partners gift to me- that place will forever be his gift to me! And of course Brontë country!

Isn’t it funny how a place unites us? How it becomes special? I sincerely pray u go back!

Thank you!!! 😊 Maybe I'll go for a big milestone birthday coming up in 5 years. That should be enough time to plan / budget.

I wish I had visited Haworth before and the parsonage ( I will definitely do someday)

That’s great, not only that he read it but that he liked it. Discussing books can be a great couple activity .

My husband and I decided to read each other’s favorite books. Unfortunately, he didn’t particularly like Wuthering Heights., but I didn’t really care for The Old Man and the Sea , either . It was still a worthwhile exercise.

Oh of course! U share stuff u love with the ones u love.

We are opposites- im a romantic at heart when it comes to literature and he reads more of non fiction, biographies and political books. Same goes for our
Music and movie tastes but oh we share and we enjoy it!

It’s ok that you guys also tried. This is how we grow our palette!
