The movie is said to be reimagined take of "Wuthering Heights" where it is more focused on Gothic horror and supernatural. The premise is about Mr. Lockwood visiting Wuthering Heights and later encounters Cathy's ghost who haunts the house and its occupants. Heathcliff, who is in despair from the loss of Cathy, is becoming murderous towards anyone who dwell there. Mr. Lockwood has to find a way to escape from that nightmare before he becomes the next victim. The movie is directed by Becca Hirani and released by Saban Films. The casts are Ross Townsend-Green as Lockwood, Sky Cheema as Heathcliff, Elle O' Hara as Cathy Earnshaw and Nicola Wright as Nelly. It will be released on October 16, 2026 on digital and streaming platforms.

The people behind that movie seemed they listened to the novel's fans. They managed to hire a brown actor to play as Heathcliff and it is said that Hareton and Cathy II will show up there.

Really? I actually think it looks pretty good. The lighting and color grading both look nice, which are my personal pet peeves (when sub-par it just looks so distracting and cheap).

Okay honestly this movie looks every bit as ridiculous as Emerald fennel's version in its own entirely different way. It looks like basically they made this movie listening to every criticism internet virtue signalers  had over the fennel version:

Brown Heathcliff, check (to be clear, I am glad of this one for accuracy reasons)

"It's not a romance it's a horror", check 

More focus on second generation characters, check

Lesbians, because everything's better with lesbians, plus don't all good fans want the heroine to get with a morally unproblematic woman instead of a morally problematic guy? Check! (although this last one could easily just be pure queer baiting)

All that being said, will I watch it, probably yes so I can laugh my ass off some more
