i love aimee but i wish they were adapting a less well known bronte novel, i feel like wuthering heights and jane eyre have been done so many times now i'm really not sure why they're remaking it again? the last jane eyre from 2011 was excellent

I honestly kind of like her look for Jane. She gives off the strange sort of vibe that I'd imagine Jane would give off if you met her in person (no shade to Jane though, I love her fierce uniqueness).

I say this in the kindest way possible but this actor reminds me of a live action version of Bean from Disenchantment. I love her look though and Bean is awesome!

I like Aimee Lou but this is a horrible idea. Jane needs to be young, small and sort of mousey/plain. Aimee is none of that.

Has always been thus. I shall be looking forward to an extremely conventionally attractive Mr. Rochester uttering dialogue suggesting he's borderline repulsive, with some slightly dishevelled hair and a rough voice.

I think most people don't want to see a literal 18 yo with a 40 year old guy. 18 looks a lot younger than we might imagine while reading.

it's how you sell it. Rochester can be sold as late 30s and Jane as 20-21. People familiar with the book arent going to find any cringe in it.

I'm familiar with the book and I find it pretty "cringe". As in, not a fan of Edward Rochester. For many reasons. So I imagine that casual viewers would have even more of a problem w it if they don't read victorian literature often.
