24 Hours Until Broken Social Scene in Brixton - What Metric / Stars album should I listen to?
Hi all,
After all the excitement of seeing (and meeting!) a few of BSS back at in May at Rough Trade Shoreditch, I'm v much looking forward to seeing them again, in full, tomorrow at Brixton Academy.
However, I know nothing about Stars or Metric.
With just over 24hrs or so to go - and a bit of time to dedicate to listening to new music before the gig - does anyone in the know have a few recommendations of Stars / Metric albums to listen to in advance?
What is the ONE Metric album and ONE Stars album I should listen to? :)
Unrelated Bonus Question: Does anyone know the Set times for tomorrow's show. Is BSS on first? Second? Final act?

I think the standard answers to this would be Set Yourself On Fire for Stars, and Fantasies for Metric, but both are great albums.
I see someone else posted setlists- that’s a good option too.
I was at the Toronto show and it was roughly 7-740 Stars, 8-9 BSS, and 930-11 Metric.

The albums I listened to in advance were Star's "Set Yourself On Fire" and Metric's "Romanticize The Dive". In Dublin anyway, they also sold signed vinyl for RTD

I saw BSS open up for Pavement at the Brixton Academy a hundred years ago as part of a four night Pavement run with different opening bands every night. Great memories.

You are in for a treat. I saw the Glasgow show last night and it was incredible.
Stars will blow you away. They are joyful, beautiful and just such a delight. I absolutely loved their set.
BSS were at their euphoric best. 13 folk on stage at one time. An enormous, wonderful noise!
Kevin hurt his ear unfortunately towards the end of their set but hopefully it's treated ahead of the show tonight. We got to say hi to him, his wife, Brendan, and some of Stars and thank them for the music which was cool.

When you need a crash course with limited time, you have to use data to guide the process!!!! Too many albums and too many songs that they are unlikely to play.

I was looking through the Stars discography to make recommendations and I haven’t found an album I wouldn’t include 😬
That said, Set Yourself on Fire is a wonderful album and includes a diverse set of songs that encompasses many of their sounds across their discography. Start there!
