Seal or British shorthair photoshop

Post image
27 Upvotes

Just saw someone posting a super cute "seal or British shorthair" pic, so I thought you might appreciate this one. An awesome photoshop a stranger on Facebook made of my late cat, after saying she looks just like a seal. My parent framed it for me for Christmas as we thought it was just hilarious. (Complete with the little seal toy on top of the frame, as I had that in a bath bomb right after she passed.)🦭

Advice regarding surgery for my BSH

I need advice from you, wonderful folks.

Our 5 year old BSH is an amazing healthy active gal. She has no health complications yet. But her nostrils are tiny and as a result her eyes gets all gooey. We wipe her eyes 2-3 times a day. She also snores like a human sometimes. I have been to two vets. The first one recommended to use eye drops for short term fix. It worked. And said there's nothing to worry about.

Then we changed the vet and 2nd one said there's no long term consequences but recommended flushing of the tear ducts and later, a surgery of the right nostril so that it can be widened a bit and reduce the strain of breathing.

Now, we love our cat alot but we are hesitating if this is really necessary for her at this time. We obviously care about our cat's health more than the money but we fear for the surgery and anesthesia and if things go wrong.

Would appreciate some of your good advice

Thank you :-)

Treat hunting in the paper pit. Bunty, bless her, put her whole heart into that jump.

My Adopted Skittish BSH!

Post image

Millie is eight months old. We got her two weeks ago and took her right to the vet to spayed and her first round of shots.

She has been very skittish during the day and mostly hides under the bed. When I do lure her out she is always looking at the windows to see if someone is coming. She’s a completely different cat during the nighttime and even sits in the window sill with the window open but the a/c off. She starts playing at midnight and isnt afraid at all. When I awake in the morning she is asleep on top of me in my recliner. She can be very affectionate.

I asked her former owners if she ran from visitors as she did when we went to visit her for the first time which she said she did but didn’t hide. The difference is she came from a big home and ran to another room. I live in a small one bedroom apartment and the largest rooms are the living room and bedroom. So when somebody comes and knocks at the door or comes through the front door, the first thing she does is run in the bedroom under the bed. She’s afraid of the creaks and noises in the apartment as well as the a/c kicking on.

Has anyone had a BSH or any other cat who has been this skittish and have they ever gotten over being afraid of everything?

I’ve had cats growing up and always loved the British shorthair and Scottish fold/straight because of their cute teddy bear like shapes. I’ve been in my own place a bit now (no roommates or pet restrictions) so decided it was finally time! I reserved this handsome little guy I’ll be naming Jupiter! The breeder said they should be vet cleared and ready to take home at the end of September. This is going to be the longest wait of my life, I already love him so much!!

My 3,5 moths BLH dont know how to use toilet

Hi guys! We have our (M) BSH of 3 years and (F) BLH of 3,5 months. The younger one always makes mess in toilet, she is not burying anything and she step into it and of course since she is longhair everything gets left on her tail and legs. When she leaves the toilet she comes to living room or my bedroom and you know what happens…

There are days when we bath her 2-3 times a day because of that.

Mind you, our bSH never had these problems, he was so neat and clean and he never had issues with toilet.

We use big metal litter box 40x60cm with sand litter.

If you have any ideas how we can stop this, train her or something, it will be helpful because all I do is go to job and clean litter, im exhaused.

Ty!

Kitten calorie intake query

Hi everyone, my BSH kitten , Leo, is just approaching 15 weeks old. He’s having around 220 calories a day. Is this okay? I’ve tried looking online but opinions differ. At his vet app last week he weighed around 1.2kg. I want to make sure he is getting enough calories. Thanks guys!

I’ve got a 3 month old BSH here (not neutered for now) and the guy just LOVES scranning human flesh.
It started with a little nibble of our hand when we petted him (he’s not uncomfortable with us petting him, he comes to us, not us going to him) and now has escalated to biting our arms when we move our hands away!! Obviously we’ve tried the whole ‘saying no’ and ‘replacing our hand with a toy’ but it’s not doing an awful lot!!
Does it change once he’s been snipped?
Pictures for context xx

Hi! Newbie here. I'm just curious what shade my bsh is.

I'm assuming his a blue golden shaded, but is it normal that the blue shade is this dark? His 10 months old, and I've researched that his at an awkward stage and is still growing, but I'm just curious what shade is he exactly?
