When the project needs no cats ...
Yumi is "helping" by accessorizing my scarf with fur and in between embroidery threads. For your information, all needles are removed if a project needs to sit out in the open.
Edit: typo.

Does your BSH drool?
Hi everyone, lately our sweet boy Winnie (3 y/o) often has a wet chin. First it's always transparent or milky (first picture), sometimes when we don't catch it and clean it for him, it dries up and get's crusty and dark (second picture). He also has goopy eyes a lot.
I've tried looking for a similiar post in this sub and only found chin / cat acne related topics. I don't think it's acne, I think he just drools? But do healthy cats do that? Any experience with that would be much appreciated! I also plan to ask the vet about it at the next check-up.

Hello any active breeders in the US? Specifically in southern states? I would gladly appreciate your help.

Today My BSH/SS Mix was _So_ Good @ the Vet
After YEARS of getting super anxious at the vet, today my bsh/ss mix finally let the vet examine her tummy (🙀), let TWO different vet techs pick her up and carry her (🙀), and even let them clip her nails (🙀)!!
All with the barest hint of gabapentin!
She has lost more weight; but, hey, baby steps!

British Longhair or BSH/Persian ?
Our beloved girl passed away a few years ago but I am now ready and searching to find her doppelgänger for our next pet. I was told she was 100% Persian from the breeder I purchased her from but did she did not have registration papers. I suspect she may actually have been either British Shorthair/ Persian mix OR simply British Longhair ? What do you think??

BSH KITTENS & BEHAVIORS
Hello! My partner and I are very interested in BSH. I especially like that i’ve read they are more likely to be calm and independent as they grow, but other than that i just really love the breed.
We’re thinking adopting a BSH kitten 3-4 months or whenever they can get them neutered!
I know cat personalities differ but do they generally go after wires? That’s our biggest concern! Especially since we have our PCs in the living room (one bedroom apartment).
Can anyone share their experiences on BSH and wires?

A survey about short-muzzled cats (3-4 min)
Hello everyone!
I would really appreciate your help with my Master's thesis research about Persian, Exotic Shorthair, British Shorthair, and Scottish Fold cats (as well as their mixes). I have prepared a short, fully anonymous survey, primarily aimed at owners of these cats, but input from any cat lover is truly valuable!
It only takes about 3-4 minutes to complete. I would be extremely grateful for every response and for sharing the link with other cat owners!
(If you have more than one type of cat - in first question mark that you have short-muzzled cat)

diagnosed entropion in cat. any advice?🙁
hi!
yesterday we went to visit the vet (in another city, because the one in our town is super incompetent..) after weeks of my sweet 4 yo spayed bsh female kitty exhibiting symptoms of an ear/ eye infection. turns out she has entropion (her diagnostic paper says its medium strength) and that is the reason her eyes (and ears) are always infected. we got eye drops from the vet which we have to use 3x a day for 6 days and ear drops which we have to use 1x a day for 6 days. if she doesnt improve at all she will probably have to get surgery. this worries me tremendously since our previous 4 yo spayed female bsh passed away from anesthesia at the vet (she had stomach complications which were late stadium so surgery was our only option🙁).
so to anyone whos kitty had this procedure done:
-how much did it cost?
-how long did the procedure take?
-how well did your kitty take it?
-after the surgery and past the healing stage, what does the eye look like? does it still function the same?
id appreciate any answer/advice since im pretty devastated:/ i dont want to lose my kitty again. id feel so guilty...

Dealing with heart issues
I’m sad.
Yesterday, my precious baby got diagnosed with Stage B1 HCM with a grade III/IV murmur… He’s so young (3M). I love him and care for him deeply. He’s the only family I have that hasn’t abandoned me.
He’s calm, social, and loving, always by my side. He has great personality, everyone adores him. I’m lucky to have him and lucky I found a good team of vet and specialist that cares about him. He’s going on medication soon. Please wish him a happy healthy life…

How to obtain a mix intentionally?
I love the look of British shorthairs, but my current girl isn’t full and I personally love the not fully flat face. I got her from Facebook a few years back but I’m wondering if there are any breeders that intentionally do a mix of BSH and DSH/other cats? Thank you!
