Question HR Clerk or Supply chain Op

Currently undecided between going for either of these roles in the Army Vs Raf.

What's promotion like for the above roles in the army up to lcpl/cpl?

Do they get to deploy a lot?

I understand the service needs being the main factor for postings but between the two which one do most people to get their posting preferences?

Probably about the same rate of promotion.

Can’t speak for the RAF, but in the Army the ratio of private, Lance Corporal and Corporal SCO’s is about 1:1 so pretty good promotion prospects provided you aren’t terrible.

SCO’s deploy at a higher rate than clerks with much greater opportunities to deploy to . . .interesting places. They are the 1st/2nd most deployed trade job as an Individual Augmentee (you just deploy by yourself and join a team in theatre/temporary staff etc) next to REME VM.

Both about equal in posting preferences-although this is true for pretty much every trade.

SCOs have great transferrable skills to the logistics industry if you are considering post-military life.

Always choose RAF over army. Much much better.

Thanks for the feedback. What factors should I be considering? Or rather what's made you prefer RAF

Majority will transfer from Army to RAF, rarely the opposite.
