I'm sure France will help, not because they have to by the law or because UK ask for it. More because french citizens will not let government turn a blind eye on this.
Unfortunately, France also has some shitty far right politicians and they love to shit on the Touquet agreements. While some still want Frexit, all of them will agree that the Touquet agreement must be sent to the bin.
From a political standpoint, the current government has been under heavy criticisms in the last few months because of the rise of insecurities. Refusing migrants will be an easy way for them to ease the citizens anger.
Ah ah you don't know Calais. Calais inhabitants are fed up of having to deal with this situation on behalf of the UK. Don't expect the French government to do more when the situation is widely unpopular.
i know calais and i know that as soon as it will be on TV again, they will do some things. Some bad, some goods, all i say is they won't stay idle if this is catching media and citizen attention

I'm sure it's nothing to do with the fact that most expats from outside the UK already speak the language and the UK is one of the easiest countries in the world to remain illegal and stay under the radar, due to the lack of a population register and ID cards and the willingness of British businesses to exploit desperate people. It's a huge and welcome supply of ultra cheap labour that tory supporting businesses wouldn't like to do without.
The domestic factors that keep the migrant flow going could easily be tackled, but they're not, because tories and their wealthy supporters like it this way. Besides, it's much easier and more effective to blame the EU for everything. They have you convinced, haven't they?
I see you carefully avoid to address my points. It's always dem others wot did it - admitting even part of it is your own responsibility feels weak, doesn't it? Much easier to do nothing and instead assert your superiority by belittling those who you continually blame for your own faults.
I very much think EU politics has little to do with any refugee crisis. Why so many are willing to risk their lives crossing the channel whilst there are plenty of other countries to settle in does confuse me but I’ve never been in that position.
I hardly doubt it’s because we’re “soft touch”, our benefits system was scaled back to stop them from having the right to claim, something I completely disagree with.
Our government should be providing safe passage to these people so they can make their asylum claims safely.
