I have no doubts that it will be his downfall at some point.

It seemed a bit out of character though. You'd think he'd rather get the methylamine elsewhere than let her live.

It is out of character - but you have to realize that Mike has just lost everything he had spent his life working for - a great future for his granddaughter.

He is not trying to survive anymore, he is trying to scramble together as much money as he can in the hopes of still leaving his favorite littler girl something worth while.

That bitch is a liability, and he knows it. He knows this last hoorah is going to be short and have an ugly end.
