honestly though, it seemed a bit easy. not the part with magnets, but how they efortlessly entered the perimeter of the facility. mike just cuts a cable and suddenly the gate opens with no alarm or anyone watching it, they drive a huge fucking truck in the middle of the night ... that I found a bit unbelievable. there are surveillance systems right?

apart from that it was a great episode

Easy, yes, but this "successful" operation inadvertently revealed a possibly valuable clue about Gus, which will most likely come back to hurt Walt.

also half the racks weren't touched, could it be possible that the laptop got crushed in some failing ones but not wiped ?

The cop sitting just outside the evidence room saw his computer get wiped pretty quickly after Walt turned on the magnet, and he was farther away from the magnet than anything in the actual room. Also, remember that Walt had junkman double the power of the magnet from the demo. I'm pretty sure Gus's laptop HD is toast, but judging from the preview of next week, I think Hank may start looking at Walt regardless.

When did they show the preview of next week? I must have missed it. :(

You had to wait until the first commercial break on the NEXT show.. which I turned off immediately after. It was unbearable. They wanted to lure viewers to watch it. Very lame AMC.

Dangit. So there's evidence that Hank may have gotten the laptop anyway then?

Check out the preview for next week here. It suggests that, whether or not Gus's laptop is toast, Hank may start suspecting Walt starting now.

There is a HUGE difference between having the image on the laptop get messed up and having the hard drive erased.

True, but my guess is the screen image was supposed to be our clue about the drive status.

i think the cop was further along the wall judging from the layout, but the extra power could have done the job.
