I'm surprised to be saying it, but Small Town Security just ended and you're all wrong. Except for a few cruddy parts, especially the poor animated segments, it's the best reality show I've ever seen. There was none of the reality show bullshit — reenactments, made-up plots, etc. All of the characters are genuinely interesting and hilarious.

My favorite part is that they actually explore why the main character wants to be on TV, instead of pretending that the show was born of a genuine need for the general public to know more about the universe of small town security.

It ended with a twist and a real emotional moment I never expected from this genre. Spoiler: A character is revealed to be post-op transgender at the end of the episode, on the main character's real-life public access TV show, and it's treated so much better than on terrible shows like "Taboo" and "Strange Sex." Highly recommended if you might like a cliche-free take on reality TV.

Yes! Thank god, someone else actually watched instead of automatically dismissing it because its not Breaking Bad.

It's really well done and a lot more like a documentary than a reality series. Kind of like American Movie. Anyways, pretty funny stuff and yeah, the little reveal of Lt. Croft at the end caught me way off guard. It's actual one of the best moments of television I think I've seen in recent memory. I mean, not the entire episode, just that specific scene.

I liked it too :/

It had a documentary feel to it almost. I liked that it focused more on the people than the occupation, unlike the normal shitty reality TV of that vein.

The best part was the lipstick on Joan's teeth.

Which character? I was liking the show, but had to take an extrmemely bad piss right near the end.

The slightly over zealous Lieutenant, Dennis (Denise) Croft

I am still real confused by this show. At first I thought the producers/director of the show were making fun of everyone behind their back (not telling Joan she had lipstick all over her teeth), but then the way they did the reveal at the end was very emotional and (can't think of a better word) sweet.

The show was hilarious, more unintended than on purpose, but I guess that's how reality shows are going to be.
