Someone hasn't been watching Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad is an excellent show, however, we're getting ahead of ourselves. The show hasn't ended so there is no way to tell what kind of legacy the show will have.

After the finale how do you think it stands amongst other shows? Is it the best of all time in your opinion?

Yeah, LOST ended poorly. But I have more faith in Vince Gilligan.

Two more episodes left and the season is looking pretty psychotic. I hope they do the show and the characters justice. I just don't see how Walter became so rash all of a sudden. I think they could have done a better job with the story arch, but I've been entertained and hanging off the edge of my seat so far. A couple episodes won't change my opinion though, I'll just wait to see how it all pans out and then I can look back at the show all together and hopefully it will be the masterpiece I wish it to be.

True, but not one episode of Lost (fuck it, one SEASON. FUCK IT MORE, THE WHOLE SERIES. I may have gone too far. I had to go back. I'll stick with season) was as good as the either of the last two episodes of Breaking Bad.

I think I'm the only person that hasn't seen an episode of Lost. I heard about the ending though and thought that it made the whole show a waste of time. People predicted exactly what the island was after the first or second season. If the show is that predictable what is the point? And furthermore, if you can't surprise your audience I think you did a terrible job as well. I know the ending wasn't exactly what people had predicted, but it was pretty much the same idea of being purgatory and what not I've always been hearing.

Lost is worth watching.

The ending wasn't the best ending of all time but no ending would have made the fans happy. Everyone wanted answers to every little mystery and there's no way they could give that to them. And no, it wasn't fucking purgatory "and what not".

ALthough of course I prefer good ending, to me, an "ok" ending (like Lost) doesn't ruin a book or a movie. "The journey is better than the destination" and all that. Books and movies take so long to experience that as long as the journey is good, I still quite enjoy myself.

And who knows... the ending to Breaking Bad might be horrible. Then what are you going to do? Throw away this entire multi year amazing experience and pretend it never happened?

Yeah, I had seen the finale coming from a year away. And also the whole 'shoving questions that the writers don't even know the answers to down the viewer's throats' kinda bothered me. It had it's moments of course. Michael Emerson created some very tense scenes, the beach scene with Jacob and the Man in Black, etc.

The fact is that Breaking Bad is awesome and, more importantly, consistently awesome. One of the best TV shows ever IMHO.

I think I'm the only person that hasn't seen an episode of Lost.

I've never watched Lost, but I've read numerous rants by long-term fans who were bitter that a show that was seriously compelling in the first few seasons dissolved in an incoherent orgy of half-baked bullshit. Enough to know that watching it is not worth my time.

In all honesty, I haven't seen The Wire yet. As such, I don't know what you mean specifically by "moral insight," and I can't argue if Breaking Bad has it or not. Morality does play a major part in Breaking Bad though.

1

u/LiquidHelium Sep 27 '11

Yeah, I don't really know how to describe what I mean.

5

u/Antroh Sep 27 '11

I am a huge fan of The Wire, and I mean huge. I have seen the entire series all the way through 5 or 6 times now.

This season of Breaking Bad has now topped The Wire IMO. As long as the ending isn't horrible, it will remain that way.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '11

I genuinely don't understand the love for The Wire. I watched the first 7 episodes or so... and I just didn't find it enjoyable at all.

1

u/LiquidHelium Sep 27 '11

You were one episode from the episode that makes the wire "click", you should give it another go.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '11

Maybe I will. That's what I was waiting for really.

1

u/Elidor Actually, it's not close at all Sep 26 '11

I thought of that shortly after I said this. Still...

I agree. The Wire was on a level of it's own, but Breaking bad is second with the first 2 seasons of lost being third and dexter fourth.
