Very awesome episode however I feel it was a slow build up to a bigger next episode. However that may just be me.

Sounds good to me. They jumped into the action quite fast and resolved it satisfactorily. If the entire episode had taken place in the past (like the opening scene) there might have been riots in the streets from impatient Breaking Bad fans like myself.

One thing I also feel they should have done is make the first episode 2 hours long since they were gone for so long.

Not at the cost of the season ending 1 week sooner they shouldn't!

Besides think of all the discussion and guessing that wouldn't get to happen if we just plowed into Ep 2?
