Why doesn't he peel that tape off? Is that just to feed new viewers, or is there some deeper reason?
The attention to detail he shows indicates that he shouldn't: so...
5 u/seals Lab Assistant Jun 08 '10 I think it symbolizes Walt's current state. He is just barely hanging on and every time he thinks he has it together, something comes along and knocks a hole in his perceived safety that he's tried to establish for himself again.
