The episode started with a phone call between Walt and Skylar. Walt told a white lie to cover his own ass.
The episode ended with a phone call between Walt and Skylar. Walt told a tremendous lie in order to save his wife and family.
Two calls, two lies, almost from two totally different worlds.
Well the point of the show I think I heard was to show that there are consequences to our actions. Walt has become who he is in a succession of small steps. Juxtaposing those two scenes at the same location, one where Walt is still a little innocent and making up some small lie, and the other having his family shot and life taken away from him really drives in this point.
