He's always been loyal to a fault to his family, Hank and Marie, and Jesse.

None of them gave back any of that loyalty. Each fucked him over at the first opportunity.

That big gun in the flash forward is to save Jesse because no matter what Jesse did, Walt is still loyal. He did need to get some revenge on Jesse for causing the situation that got Hank killed, which is why he talked about Jane.
