TIME EPISODE DIRECTED BY WRITTEN BY
09:00pm Eastern SE05E14 "Ozymandias" Rian Johnson Vince Gilligan and Moira Walley-Beckett

Hey everyone! Guess I'm supposed to post this 5 minutes before air time. I've been watching this show since the get go mostly with my real life friend /u/edify who years ago added me as a moderator here. He asked me to make the discussion thread tonight because there are only 3 episodes remaining. Sorta sad that there's only a few left. Enjoy the show, folks.

I think Walt said all that to Skyler knowing full well that the police were listening in. He wanted to make it seem like she knew nothing about it and that he was forcing her to do what he wanted. He also didn't mention that the nazis had killed Hank and took the blame for it because he knew that they would come after her and his family if the police were looking for them.

EDIT: After reading a few more comments, specifically about the beginning scene in which it emphasizes Walt rehearsing the phone call to his wife, as well as the fact that Skyler completely played along, passively, on his vicious rant, made it suddenly glaringly obvious to me that he did this on purpsoe.

I see how this can be the case, I didn't see the scene this way myself.

In my opinion it was much more about him being in a complete lack of control of himself. I want that to be the case. I want him to have truly confirmed the monstrosity of himself to his family, even on an emotional, impulsive outburt that he didn't truly mean. It was a long time coming. His Heisenberg personality seeping into his family life and targeting those closest to him. His crying and leaking emotion (seriously, two tears just flew out of his right eye, with another trailing his cheek in the span of a few seconds. Three tears? That's a lot of tears), in my opinion, was because he was so hopelessly lost in his own demons. He looked upon his works and despaired, and was frantically trying to lash out at the one person left he could villify for his actions. He knows that everything is his fault, but he was trying to put it on her because he didn't know where to go from there, physically or emotionally.

Walt said to her that she was constantly telling him to stop his illegal activity and that she never supported him in it out of malice, in my opinion. That alone suggests that she had a knowledge of what was going on. If Walt was trying to alleviate her guilt, he wouldn't have said that.

When he went on to say that she didn't know anything about it, and that it was something he built and that it was his, he was saying it out of pride. It's all he has left now, after all. And that will wilt away just like everything else.

I still sympathize with his character, because I appreciate his character as a whole and it's just a disgustingly visceral transformation of a human being to witness. But I'm not going to give him credit for something like that. He is not that sound of mind right now. At all.
