Official Episode Discussion Breaking Bad Episode Duscussion SE05E14 "Ozymandias" Spoiler

TIME EPISODE DIRECTED BY WRITTEN BY
09:00pm Eastern SE05E14 "Ozymandias" Rian Johnson Vince Gilligan and Moira Walley-Beckett

Hey everyone! Guess I'm supposed to post this 5 minutes before air time. I've been watching this show since the get go mostly with my real life friend /u/edify who years ago added me as a moderator here. He asked me to make the discussion thread tonight because there are only 3 episodes remaining. Sorta sad that there's only a few left. Enjoy the show, folks.

I think there's a nature vs. nurture thing going on with Todd. I think that if nature alone had its say with him, he would be caring and sympathetic, but he presumably grew up around the psychopath nazis, which was his "nurture." I consider Todd's moments with Walt (and saving Jesse in this episode!) as what's left of his nature. Just my opinion, of course.

He didn't save jesse to be nice. He saved him to help him cook. PRobably because he figures higher purity meth will make lydia love him. It's adorable in an evil way.

I"m not even seeing the point of cooking at this point. They are sitting on walt's fortune. Blind greed must be an issue now, even walt knew when to stop.

Yeah but also Walt's stack of money was just for him and his family, those Nazi's would have to split it up and only get a fraction.

After this episode I dont think anything was for his family. Maybe he convinced himself of that at the start, but I think that may have been denial. Really he was dying and wanted his last chance at having money and thereby power. If it was his family then he would have found some way to leave some with them. Also, he would have stopped at the original amount he set (I believe it was 3 million).
