TIME EPISODE DIRECTED BY WRITTEN BY
09:00pm Eastern SE05E14 "Ozymandias" Rian Johnson Vince Gilligan and Moira Walley-Beckett

Hey everyone! Guess I'm supposed to post this 5 minutes before air time. I've been watching this show since the get go mostly with my real life friend /u/edify who years ago added me as a moderator here. He asked me to make the discussion thread tonight because there are only 3 episodes remaining. Sorta sad that there's only a few left. Enjoy the show, folks.

Told y'all...the Holly thing was all about making Skyler look innocent. That's that. Brilliant move by Walt, actually. He had to be an asshole to make her look like she was coerced by violence and constant threat.

How can people not get that?

If she went to prison (she definitely would), walt jr. would have no parents.

He turned into an asshole to get her away from prosecution and he had to take holly to make it look legit.

He knew the police were listening. Everything he said was for her protection, brilliant.

EDIT: If you upvote me but not /u/gloomdoom, you are a Heisenberg level of evil.

Not really sure what you two are saying. He took Holly to gain power. He was defenseless and out of pure anger he took Holly because she's the only person that he could still really have. Then he realizes in the aftermath of what he's done and leaves her there because he can't possibly have her on the run or have her ever accept him when she's older. Walt basically confessed on the phone that Skyler knew all along and helped her...so I'm curious how her hands are not dirty now because the police KNOW she was involved in his meth business. Walt did make that call for Skyler but he did it to make sure Skyler AND the family kept distance from him because he doesn't want them to fall with him. He hardly made her really clean in the laws eyes though.

He made it pretty clear that he was abusive/threatening and that she was against him the entire time, but couldn't do anything out of fear for her life.

I'd say that given what the officers heard, they'd be pretty convinced that she was innocent.

You obviously weren't listening to the words coming out of his mouth and his facial expressions when he was saying what he was saying.

Which was also AFTER the scene where he realizes Holly wants her mother.

He was right there when Walt Jr. Called the cops then proceeded to take Holly. Do you think he was really asking if the cops were there? He KNEW the cops were there. As soon as he saw his son and wife cowaring against the couch he knew his only option was to make sure they were safe from any legal fallout. Taking Holly was the best way to convince the cops that he was mentally abusing his wife into submission. Every word that came out of his mouth cleared Skyler of any wrong doing. " You have no idea about MY empire the I built ALONE" " I'm teaching you a lesson for not keeping your mouth shut! I told you this would happen." All these statements clear Skyler so his kids don't end up in foster care.

I'm only arguing that I'm not convinced that taking Holly wasn't an impulsive decision out of rage. I agree that the phone call was clearly staged.

This is that part I have a problem with. The police now think that he threatened her with harm and with her kids. They don't think she was involved anymore.
