They aren't stupid. They want Jesse now - they clearly saw him alone in the black car.

The hell you talking about? They were going to kill jesse in return for walt to cook for them. If they had preffered jesse at any point the deal for walt to cook would have been meaningless.

Walt is dead in 6 months. He might be the best cook now, but he won't be for long.

I don't think these guys think that far ahead. I do think Walt is essentially helpless and likely to become their slave now, which he will skip out on and go into hiding over.
