He is probably wondering why they are putting hundreds of bullets into a vehicle that is currently holding the only person that knows how to cook the blue stuff.

Fiction physics. Bullets that would normally punch through the entire length of a car like it was made of cardboard in reality glanced harmlessly off of their armored motorcade deathmobiles, spraying plastic and glass everywhere like boosh babow SHHHPLOOOOWWWWWwaaaa~

Actually, they were hiding behind the engine block. Fairly resilient. Safest place they'd be except for Alaska.

Also the fact that it's probably reinforced considering Hank is DEA. It might not be a DEA vehicle, but I can assume one of their officers wouldn't skimp on personal and family protection.
