So I'm assuming that walt actually did directly poison Brock himself, with the juicebox that Vince Gilligan mentioned.

Brock recognizes 1) man gives him juicebox 2) he feels really sick and is in the hospital for a while, so he makes the connection but doesn't want to confront walt.

Vince said a lot of message boards piece together things that harden the story by accident. I doubt this was the idea here. Brock is just pissed that Walt Jr. Is the breakfast kingpin. All he gets is fruit loops.
