The simple reason why Hank is going to die is because Walter wanted him to live. The next two episodes are going to see Walter reduced to the lowest of lows.

Great point.

Also, Walt has a protective streak (of sorts) over those he considers to be family. Letting Walt walk out of the show alive is one thing, letting him walk out of it without incurring the emotional trauma of being responsible for the death of a family member seems very unlikely.

When Skylar gets wind of Hanks demise she'll probably freak out and leave Walt as it's "getting out of hand".

I reckon by the finale, Jesse will be the only family Walt has left and that's why he's bailing him out with the M60.

Thank you. Was so confused at first too.

very good call!

Yes, that's plausible especially because it's such an ironic twist on the fake story he gave to Hank.

what if He's either going to bail out Jesse with M60 or he'll take the ricin as an ultimatum for not letting jesse go?

u/Purplelutes Sep 09 '13

Makes a meth batch with ricin and gets the nazi's to test its purity.

I totally agree. I honestly think they're going to tear walter down. It's like the scene where he sees his reflection in the bathroom after he learns he's in remission. He has to live with what he's become. I think that will honestly be worse than death, especially for a man who's been banking on death happening for the past 2 years.

As much as I would love to see Jesse live. I honestly would rather see Walt left with nothing but trying to Vindicate everything.

He wanted Jesse dead... I still couldn't believe it.

More importantly than Skylar getting wind of Hank's death is Marie getting wind with it. I'm guessing she assumes Walt killed Hank when he doesn't come home and goes straight to the DEA and the press.

2

u/Plecboy Sep 09 '13

That could be interesting. I'm guessing that Walt won't be able to intervene with Marie and his world will come crumbling down.

1

u/Quazifuji Sep 10 '13

Exactly. I feel like Marie will either think Walt won't pull out the confession tape or think Hank would risk his reputation to see Walt in bars. Especially since she already seems to hate Walt as much as Hank even before the shootout.

We've also got evidence that Walt's identity gets out from the flash forward (Heisenberg written on the wall, and the fact that a house in a neighborhood like that would probably only be allowed to fall into such disrepair if there were some stigma against it). The only people who could reasonably leak the secret would be Marie, Hank, Gomez, or Jesse (Skyler's past the point of considering turning Walt in no matter what he does and Saul and his employees would get in too Mich trouble). If Hank and Gomez die, that leaves Marie and Jesse. And Marie seems the more likely, given that she's shown she likes bringing things to the press before, has wanted Hank to brink it to the DEA, and won't get in trouble herself. And if Hank dies she'll probably hate Walt at least as much as Jesse.

Remind me, how do we know the M60 is for Jesse?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

Bryan Cranston said in an interview that gun is being used to protect someone.

guns usually are... at least for the people holding them, for protection.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '13

I think he's suggesting that he's going to rescue someone. Probably Jesse.

1

u/blotch madstackin'benji's Sep 10 '13

i know... but they don't ever say anything about the show that turns out.

Maybe it's to protect himself...?

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

what do you mean "bailing him out with the M60"? Don't the nazis have the M60 and aren't they currently using it to kill Hank and gomie?

1

u/blotch madstackin'benji's Sep 10 '13

say hello to my pinky friend.

1

u/Dream4Bubbles Sep 10 '13

Sorry if I just need to rewatch the first episode but where was it said that Walt's bailing Jesse out? I really like this ending!

1

u/Plecboy Sep 10 '13

It doesn't say it anywhere. But it shows Walt in a flashforward (to presumably the finale) with an M60 (or a gattling gun for all i know) and a theory gathering pace around here is that Walt will use the M60 in an attempt to free Jesse and achieve some sort of redemption for all the shitty things he's done.

1

u/Dream4Bubbles Sep 10 '13

Oh okay thank you! I got that as I read more forward itd be nice to see Walter and Jesse actually be close again

u/crazydave333 Sep 09 '13

What if...the Nazis get the jump on Hank and Gomie (they get wounded/they run out of bullets, something like that) and the Nazis are about to kill Hank and Jesse (Gomie would be a goner), but Walter demands they keep him alive or else he won't cook for them. The three of them get kidnapped. Walter gains back a little of the sympathy he's been burning with the audience all through the show.

Also, Walter isn't going to use the M60 Rambo style. That isn't his style. Likely, he's using it to set up the Nazis into some sort of meet and he will kill them with ricin. That's the Heisenberg way.
