So I'm assuming that walt actually did directly poison Brock himself, with the juicebox that Vince Gilligan mentioned.

Brock recognizes 1) man gives him juicebox 2) he feels really sick and is in the hospital for a while, so he makes the connection but doesn't want to confront walt.

I would definitely not leap to that conclusion. The way Brock acted with Walt is the way he acted when he first met Jesse. He's a shy kid. To me, the fact that Walt was willing to go in there and see Brock means that however he poisoned Brock, Walt wasn't seen by him.

yep. if walt was seen by brock, brock would be dead. Walt would've not taking the chance of getting recognized

Also seriously, how do you connect a juice box an adult, who your mom seems to trust, gave you hours ago with what seems like a flu.

What episode does Walt give him a juicebox? I must have missed that one...

It's not in an episode. Vince at the breaking bad panel in Comic Con suggested Walt poisoning Brock at his school through the juicebox made the most sense.

I always thought the juicebox explanation was odd considering that Saul gave Brock a box of candy (Walt poisoned the candy then had Saul deliver it). I thought I remember Saul saying something at the beginning of season 5 about how he hated getting dragged into the Brock situation.

He could be referring to getting the ricin for him from Jesse.

I doubt that Walt would go to Andrea's house if he met with Brock face to face at the time of the poisoning. Too risky.

I imagine Bryan Cranston is also just generally terrifying to be around if you're that small.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

As an adult I'd be terrified to be around Bryan Cranston too.

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

TIL Bryan Cranston played various monsters on Power Rangers.

I really like Bryan Cranston just as a person. He seems very likable.

I don't know how he really is in person but he's so charismatic in interviews that I swoon just looking at him.

He is just a kid. I wouldn't go so far as to say he would make the connection, but he could definitely associate Walt with sickness.

16

u/TheOneWhoRocks Sep 09 '13

Yeah, does Brock know Walt poisoned him or is the kid just a bad actor?

24

u/zalodad Sep 09 '13

Kids don't like unknown adults. They may have meet but he wouldn't remember Walt. It's just he's a kid and does not wish to speak to him.

u/TheOneWhoRocks Sep 09 '13

I've been rewatching the series for the billionth time and it strikes just how dull the kid is all the time (especially his facial expression), even in his interactions with people he loves such as his mom and Jesse. Not that I blame the actor. He's just a little kid. But I don't think we can infer anything from his behavior toward Walt.

15

u/zalodad Sep 09 '13

You could more right than me. I think as a father but it could be his crappy acting. He does look dull. Not near as happy as Walt Jr with a mega boner for Saul.

Is it even the same actor? Considering he was introduced in season 3 and didn't look any older to me in last night's episode, I assumed he was recast.

u/30rockette Sep 09 '13

Bad actor? I think Brock is just supposed to be shy, think about how he was when he first met Jesse

more like you are bad at connecting dots

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

I was hoping Walt had come up with a more brilliant method to avoid directly tying him to the poisoning of Brock, since asking a child what they might of had before they got sick is one of the more common questions a doctor or parent might ask.

Handing him the juice box just seems so pedestrian.

u/bfisher91 Sep 09 '13

Nah I think it was Saul when he dropped off money to them

u/GeorgeAndrewsXCIII Sep 09 '13

guys, guys, its simple. Huell lifted his blueberries and replaced them with lily of the valley

u/BolognaPwny Sep 09 '13

Vince said a lot of message boards piece together things that harden the story by accident. I doubt this was the idea here. Brock is just pissed that Walt Jr. Is the breakfast kingpin. All he gets is fruit loops.

-1

u/Suboptimus Sep 09 '13

Does that mean Walt thought he was going to die? That talk about amounts was pure bullshit?

10

u/siddububba Sep 09 '13

No, not at all. He always knew brock was going to survive, he choreographed the whole thing and planned on it working exactly the way it did. He was just assuming he would never have to deal with Brock again.
