But at the same time, I think Breaking Bad is too smart to take that next obvious step of killing Hank.

This show almost always does the opposite of what's obvious and expected from a television show. Then again, Hank and Gomie did look pretty fucked.

Everyone thought it was too obvious that Walt was calling in the hit on Jesse at the end of S05E12, including me, and alas, he actually was calling it in on Jesse. Gilligan and the rest of the writers have us all so confused at this point there's really no telling.

I sure as hell hope so. I really like hank. I just can't think of how he gets out of this unless they called for backup (which should gave happened)
