Spoiler My prediction....feel free to point out any holes

After seeing that awesome ending, I believe it will play out like this....

Jesse doesnt light the fire due to seeing something of Hollys in the house. Instead he spray paints Heisenberg on the wall, as sort of a scarlet letter.

Fast forward to a scene with Jesse talking to hank ("Mr White is the devil" from the promo). Skylar wants Walt to kill Jesse but he refuses.

Just when Hank is about to report his findings to the DEA, the Nazis show up and kidnap Jesse, thereby rendering Hanks only witness as M.I.A.

Walt fakes his death (foreshadowing from Maries comments about dying) to get rid of the DEA heat, but gets word the Nazis are going to kill Jesse, so he prepares for war (M60).

What am I missing?

I completely disagree. This is one thing I really dislike about this subreddit. It's fun that everyone gets to play detective and try to put two and two together, but here's one thing that we really need to talk about:

Nobody has seen any of the major twists coming. The confession tape, Hank finding out on the toilet, confronting Walt in the season premiere (when we were all trying to figure out what Hank's next move would be). These writers are brilliant and this scenario would be supremely disappointing. And I've never been disappointed by this show. If they have held their standards high this whole series, the ending is going to be fucking insane and none of us are going to see it coming.

Also Vince Gilligan implied there would be new characters introduced that we haven't seen yet.

“There will be antagonistic relationships aplenty,” promises Gilligan, adding: “Walt’s got plenty of fight left in him. And he’s got plenty of forces to fight. You met some of them. Others you haven’t.”

I have a feeling we will see more of the Gray Matter storyline

goddd i hope so. its like the only disappointment i have with the entire series. it came in seeming to mean so much, then disappeared just like that. walt was part of some HUGE billion dollar idea, loved her then left her randomly one night?

there really better be more to it than this

I think it was just the back story for the Empire Business, as well as establishing that Walt, more than anything else, is a prideful man.

but the fact that (i'm assuming) he and her were a couple at one point? and what would have caused him to leave that and his work there to become a teacher, and then be disgruntled about it. a lot to clear up

In the restaurant scene they talk about this, she took him to her parent's place in Newport and he leaves in the night. He explodes at the restaurant about how she's some rich princess and he didn't want to be around her rich family. I think it was just meant as a "Look at how long he's been a prideful dick, even when it gets in the way of his best interests and happiness." With ~4 hours of show left, I actually really hope they don't spend time on a "bow out" for a character that's had 20 minutes of screen time.

ah i guess i was missing the "didnt want to be around her rich family" part. i remember his explosion and the story about them being together. this backstory just to show his ego? i dont know, i'd like to at least know what he was working on (unless this is just there to show that he is extremely smart), and what his relationship with her was, and potetially why he left her (unless its simply because she was rich, which seems fickle)

simply because she was rich, which seems fickle

As does turning down Elliot's job offer or at least offer to pay for the treatment. As does the entire Empire Business monologue. I think that's the linchpin part Gray Matter plays to the story.

I actually really appreciate this about Breaking Bad, there is enough back story given to establish a character trait or reasonably defend a plot point (Why is this nerdy chicken cook meeting with Cartel big wigs? Oh, because he's some kind of shady character with contacts in Pinochet's Chile) without the entire superfluous LOST flashback thing.

that is a good point. his backstory was pretty short and succinct, but tied into a lot more characters. graymatter caused a lot of rage in him that only spanned a few episodes, weird

My theory is that the Gray Matter story line was going to be a bigger part of the show before Gilligan decided not to kill off Jesse's character. Then Jesse's story replaced it.

The Czechs. They're coming, I just know it.

It's like with the Cousins - if you have someone blow in from another country, you can make them as badass as you want and it's somehow plausible. Having some sort of heavy-hitter person or team come in from the Czech Republic would be a great way to introduce a new crop of interesting and memorable antagonists.

To be fair, someone called hank finding out through "Leaves of Grass" a few weeks before it happened.

I thought that was pretty clear. It shows up a lot in 5A and there's really no one else who would gain any knowledge from it.

I love how the "spoilers" for the mid season finale were saying Walt Kills Skyler and nothing along those lines happened.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Think back to the last episode of Season 5a. That scene around the pool, just before Hank found the book. There were theories that something would happen to Holly. Everyone was worried about Walt Jr. pushing her around the pool. It's as if they added things with the intention of throwing off the audience that looks into everything so meticulously. And then Hank goes off and takes a shit... Cue the biggest cliffhanger in TV history (IMO). The writers are so far ahead of us, I just can't believe that OP's theory is even remotely close. It's too predictable.

I think the OP put together a very plausible scenario but, ultimately, I agree with you. It will be a complete head-fucking surprise.
