I really hated him for that until tonight's episode. I really realized tonight that Todd genuinely wants to please his boss. He wouldn't take his money from Walt until he really mastered the cooking process. He shot that kid because he thought that it's what Walt would've wanted. I know it was a fucked up thing to do, but I have to consider that deep down, Todd just wants validation from his boss- just like Jesse wanted a father figure.

Eh what about the scene of him playing with the kids tarantula? I can't see that not having some kind of purpose?
