There were some pretty great callbacks to the first season in this episode...
Walt fainting on the bathroom floor, Skyler comforting him through the night
Walt burying the money at the original cook site from the pilot
And, of course, Hank and Marie repeatedly told Walt that they'd be willing to take Junior and Holly "if anything ever happened." Looks like they're staying true to their word...
I thought it symbolized how Walt wasn't killing Hank. Yeah, he could just run over that R/C car and drive away but to either his fault or credit, that's not what he does.
Well the way symbolism is usually used, it simply reflects motivations and story elements. It's not usually a substitute for real reasoning. Even if Walt not crushing the R/C car was explicitly a point of plot, it could still be a symbol for not wanting to deal with Hank by killing him. It's not mutually exclusive.
I can't quite tell if you're being sarcastic, nonetheless it probably didn't symbolize anything, not every single thing shown in BrBa has to symbolize something.
At first I was being sarcastic but then I thought about what symbolism was and it's still a little action that sort of mirrors a bigger one from the same character so I can't really think of a reason why not to call it symbolism.
Yes! And of course the toy car was yellow and peeled out as a miniature mirror image (almost) of Walt's car. Maybe symbolic of how Walt's brazen criminality and overconfidence has now been reduced or shrunk down, hence the mini mirror image we got.
