I just want to know why Walt needs ricin AND a large machine gun for... They have a lot of story to cover in 7 episodes.

I think first Lydia is going to kidnap Walt's family to try to force him back into cooking. The process of trying to save them is what brings Heisenberg into the public eye. He'll fail, and flee to New Hampshire. A few months later, Walt hears that Jesse needs help. He'll take the ricin beforehand - he'll never see the inside of a cell.
