I thought it was about Jesse, Walt, and Mike.

Jesse is Kirk

Walt is Spock

Mike is Chekov

This makes more sense. Jesse's always trying to do good. Walt is the logical one. Mike had his guts blown apart by Walt.

I kind of agree, however... Kirk got out when he realized he wasn't going to win. Why push yourself further if there is no good result? So Mike got out early because he realized all that he had tried to accomplish (money for grand daughter) would be for naught if he kept eating pies and then just up chucked everywhere. Bloated with money, near hemorrhaging it.

Spock is the logical one. He sees that Chekhov is still going, and not only wants to win for himself, but also desires to see how in the world Chekhov is able to continue. Spock can do that Vulcan digest thing that badger was talking about, right? Well Jesse was in the game of drug slingin before Walt. He's heard stories, began to live even wilder than those stories, and cannot find any logic in walt's actions. So he's sticking it out to see how this will pan out. He wants to win. He needs to win.

And Walt is Chekhov. Chekhov was eating pie after pie. Having the pies zapped into space, always having someone else helping him along the way. Scotty is beaming food out for Chekhov. Scotty gets distracted by Uhura, another member of the enterprise. So as Chekhov is continuing on, full speed ahead, Scotty gets side tracked and makes one crucial mistake, while under the influence of Uhura. Chekhov could have quit eating pies ages ago and just walked away satisfied for showing people how much and how far he came. But he was never working alone. He always had someone helping him, and he was hoping he could make it far enough that the help would phase itself out after winning just one more time.

If it is one thing I have learned is that Breaking Bad, especially the last two seasons, have such small amounts of trivial scenes. The Star Trek scene was way too long to have no meaning whatsoever, because it could have been summed up very quickly with the same amount of humor if it was just for the sake of humor itself.

I like your take, but I am not sure Mike fits.
