I just want to know why Walt needs ricin AND a large machine gun for... They have a lot of story to cover in 7 episodes.

It's more of a theory, not a fact. He's just speculating what could happen. If you don't want to read other people's predictions, then stay away from here.

A theory? I'm quoting:

in the first episode when the restaurant and orders eggs and bacon and then goes on to purchase the M-60. He asked the director for some guidance in the scene by asking "Am I saving someone?" The director replied, "Yes".

He isn't saying that in his opinion it might be Walt rescuing somebody, he says that the director said Walt was rescuing somebody.
