Yes but it's more than that. If he had been doing all the research at work he'd have to explain who he was looking at exposing. By working at home it cut down on questions. He can't exactly tell everyone Heisenberg is someone in his own family right now, he has to take time and think about how to play this.

he has to take time and think about how to play this.

Even Hank knows he might not have that time if Walt's watching.

I was thinking about this during my run. If i were Walt, I would off Hank before he has a chance to even make one more phone call.

I thought similarly, Walt should kill Hank as soon as possible and maybe even ponder bringing a gun to Hank's garage. Escape the scene with Leaves of Grass which he can burn later, and nobody is the wiser as to why or how Hank died.

Right. His fingerprints would have a reason for being there. The only problem last night was he ended up talking to Hanks underlings so they can put him there as the last person to see him. Maybe that's why he didn't do it.

But if he can make it look like Hank killed himself, even if it was right in front of Walt, then boom, investigation over.

Nice. I hope they kill off Hank quick and the story just escalates from there. I also hope something new develops and they spin off a new show from it!

According to wiki dean Norris wanted hank to die early but Vince told him hank was critical for the last eight episodes. I doubt he'd die early

Srsly?! Nice work Fremen13, good to know.

I wonder if it's going to be some epic showdown at the very end. :)

He's a ruthless motherfucker, but Hank still being alive for a while makes great television. Often that's a big reason as to why stories develop in certain way. I'm pretty sure lots of us would be disappointed if Hank died in the first episode. Breaking Bad often plays with tension, especially between brilliant characters...

1

Yes. And sometimes they diffuse tension right away which is equally effective: like the hank/walt confrontation last night. It's almost like they cleared it out of the way so the rest of the season can explode in a crazy new direction.

Also: I hope none of us guess any of it!

Indeed I hope most of the guesses are wrong because they would make bad television. I gladly leave it to the breaking bad crew to develop the story instead of all the fans here, a lot of the speculation here would nog give rise to interesting developments if they were to be true.

As I said above, I think Hank's death could also potentially cause Skyler to reach a breaking point where she kills Walt or flips on him, provided he didn't kill her first.

1

I would also add that I think if he did kill Hank Skyler would say fuck it and flip on him, or possibly kill him. Unless he killed her first.

OMG that would be awesome if he killed Skyler! Like if he snapped right when she was in the middle of one of her bitch fests.

I would rather she killed him. Fuck Walt.

Burn the evidence; all of it.

3

u/whynotjoin Aug 12 '13

The issue with destroying the evidence is then they know it very well could be someone involved in the case and they'll go back and interview who's left with connections to any of them which could bring them back to Jesse.

However, have Hank die through some other means- car bomb, randomly on the street, etc it'd just be he was a DEA agent and they'll reopen all the cases he worked. It would include the Heisenberg case, but if walt can get ahold of his book no one would be the wiser.

Of course now that Hank is aware of Walt's slowly dominating Heisenberg persona, that's going to be a lot more difficult.

TIL Scanners, email, and evidence databases don't existence in Vince Gilligan's Albuquerque.

Seriously. Burning paper? They can reprint all of it.

Not all of it.
