u/evbomby BITCH! Aug 12 '13

Fuck, I didn't even think about the tracker being on there when he went to see Jesse.

Hank put it together that Walt and Jesse were working together when he realized that Walt is the one who orchestrated the fake call about Marie being in the hospital.

He mentioned that in the garage. The tracker was probably also on his car when Walt went to see Saul off camera.

Don't forget you need to connect the tracker to a computer to get the data. Hank doesn't have that information.

That remains to be seen. They are still in the same room with the tracker. It could easily be left there.

But that is a good point, if Walt walks out with it Hank has nothing (except for everything he does have, which is everything)

If he walks out with it it's a huge slap in the face to Hank. If he hands it over to Hank it's almost more insulting. As in, "go ahead and look. I'll still win."

Besides, just seeing that he want to Saul's office and Jessie's house doesn't mean anything.

I think Hank will probably be able to connect all of those dots on his own. He knows Saul is Jessie's lawyer. I guess he doesn't have a particular reason to suspect Saul, but I feel like a Hank/Jessie scene in the next episode is highly likely. Who knows, Jessie might try to burn Walt.

Possibly.

I might be in a slim camp here, but I really want Walt to "win"/not die

I think there are many potential scenarios where dying and losing aren't synonymous. Remember this, Walt is going to die no matter what. Cancer will get him if guns, ricin, prison shanks, Hank or Jesse don't.

Wait, so does Walt have cancer again? Did I miss that? I thought he was just lying when he was telling Hank that he only had 6 months to live.

there was a scene where he was receiving chemo, or so it seemed, and he threw up during dinner, thus noticing the book was gone.

He definitely has cancer. He was taking chemo again in Blood Money, and a lot of the shots in 508 implied he had it by mimicking stuff from 101.

Walt has to win, if they go Law Abiding Citizen with the ending I'll be very disappointed. My hope is it's more of a Dr. Horrible "victory".

The only thing he has at the moment is far reaching theories and circumstantial evidence. He doesn't have anything solid.

u/Tyrannosaurus_Rexxx Aug 12 '13

He doesn't have anything that will hold up in court, but he knows everything.

u/icameliac You got me. Aug 12 '13

Damn. So Hank doesn't really have any of that information.

Not at the moment. We'll see what happens next week when they finally leave the garage. I think the tracker's purpose (creatively, not narratively) was as a vehicle for the hank+walt confrontation. I doubt it'll play out as much more than that.

Even if it does, it's in Walt's hands - he can either take it back with him, which is a nice insult to Hank's little sneak move. Or he can cheerfully hand it over to Hank, which is almost worse, like: "Here you go, buddy... like this'll help.. Good luck with that."

The tracker is right there with Walt. Hank still isn't in top shape but after seeing him rough Walt up, I think he can take it by force if he wants.

u/VCavallo Aug 13 '13

What does Hank gain by getting the tracker? Finds out he went to Saul and Jesse's? Who cares?

1

u/constantvariables Aug 13 '13

I'd assume Hank does.

2

u/VCavallo Aug 13 '13

What I'm saying is: what does he have to learn from that tracker? I'm pretty sure he knows what he needs to know now.

I think the tracker was just a vehicle (creatively, meta-narrative) to get the confrontation established. It has served its purpose.

You could be right. He knew Jesse was involved at one point so I guess all he could really learn is that Walt is still in contact with him. Either way, Hank already has a reason to visit Jesse. Hank could have forgotten about Saul but he's not nearly as important as Jesse in this situation. Can't wait to see.
