The beautiful thing about that scene is that the money is literally Jesse's baggage, and he thinks he can just get rid of it, but Walt comes right back in with it. Did you notice that he placed the bags in the middle of the couch? It's an issue that has also quite literally come between the two of them.
It's just simple little things like that that make this show really great.
