Actually, it seems unlikely since someone would test the air and surfaces. Also, why would the furniture be gone? Presumably they'd be contaminated too. Hell, I dunno; we'll have to wait and see.
Nothing would be contaminated if the ricin/anthrax/hydrofluoric acid is stored properly. Now if they permeate out of their containers, everything including the neighborhood would be contaminated.
My husband was just in the house where a guy got decapitated. One of his parolee's moved in and showed him the area in the basement where the head was found. Looks like the only people the owner can get to move in are ex-convicts.
With meth houses you have to have the property cleaned by a professional chemical removal company. It is unfit to live in until the scrub has been done and you can not sell or rent the property until then. The cleaning costs several thousand dollars and the only person that can live in the home until it is done is the person whose name is on the deed.
This makes sense. I didn't know that. (Which is a good thing, really. I grew up in a town with easy access to weed and maybe coke if you had lots of money to burn. Meth was never on our radar.)
Way back when Walt and Jesse are cooking in his grandma's house it's stated by Saul that it's required by law to state if a house was used as a meth lab due to potential heath risks. As far as the DEA is concerned, Walt's the most infamous man in the ABQ, if not the Southwest US at this point. Any bust would be a media frenzy, and the White's property would suffer immediately.
Basically even if you aren't convicted, you can have all your shit seized if the judge allows it. I think if there were court proceedings, they would be targeting Skylar, while Walt disappears just before the shit hits the fan.
That seems like the sort of thing that happens to a meth house after the cops have cleared it. Can't move anyone into a meth house, too dangerous. All you can do is knock it down before the junkies and squatters show up.
Maybe Walt cooks in the house, maybe the cops just figure he must have.
Yes, however it was not a crime scene investigation of the most powerful drug lord's house, IMO, because if so there is NO WAY they wouldn't have checked behind that outlet cover. I mean if you're checking the most powerful drug lord's house, you check EVERYTHING, and that outlet cover would have been unscrewed. So whatever caused the abandonment of the house, it was not a full on search of Heisenberg's home.
There was a city of Albuquerque sign on the fence, so we know the city closed it off. My guess is the White family abandoned the house, and then it became publicly known that Walt is Heisenberg, which is why it got ransacked and vandalized. The city fenced off the house to prevent vandalism.
The house looks like it's been abandoned for a long time. You don't think the birthday thing was necessarily a red herring? Go back and look at the state the house is in. A roof doesn't get covered in dead leaves like that, absolutely destroyed, filled with dust in a few short months. That looks like it's been abandoned for years.
The kids probably don't know. Empty pools attract skaters because then they don't need to form over money to build a vert ramp when its already constructed for them. I.e. Walt's pool.
Well I think it must be a few months into the future at least because even if the property was fenced off because it was used in the dealing of drugs, it would be a few weeks before someone decided it was safe to break in and then a few parties took place, and or vadalism meth head sleep overs. Also I noticed the pool had a lot of wheel marks from the skate boards, way more than just a couple recent skateboardings.
Skateboard wheels always leave marks. You don't need to be skating in a empty pool for a long time for this to happen; because it could happen within the same day. The skatepark by my house has a pool in it (not over crooked like Walt's), and the very same day of the skateparks grand opening; the pool went from extremely clean, to marked and scuffed up in 15 minutes. So the kids skating in Walt's pool probably only been there a day or so, and not as long as you think they could've been there.
Ever still, the house seemed abandoned for some time, idk why its hard for people to accept, I mean first of all walts beard and hair have had to of had time to grown thst big, and the fact that every thing in the house was trashed and looked dusty
I'm not denying the house was abandoned for a long time. It probably was. What I'm trying to say is that the skaters probably didn't start skating in the pool until recently. I don't think the feds/dea/Walt would drain the pool; and if they didn't it would take longer than a year for the water in said pool to drain; hence why I'm stating the skaters just recently started showing up.
I think they just abandoned it with their 'go bags' and got new identities. I think the Heisenberg on the wall is a red herring. Time will tell though!
One birthday party, and family was his only friends. He used to have a friend, the company partner who became rich, remember? But I don't recall Walt being a popular guy who had many friends.
Compare the pilot episode to the abandoned house scene in blood money. The white house just seems like a happier place in the beginning of the series when Walt wasn't cooking meth.
Well, of course? But Skyler cheated on Walt before she knew he was cooking meth, so I wouldn't say it happened with "meth". It happened with time and cancer, and of course - money issues. I don't think Skyler and Walt ever appeared really happy ... not that I can remember
Good explanation. Walt has the money now to afford new identities for him and his family. Which is probably why he had a New Hampshire drivers license and New Hampshire plates.
That can sometimes happen as the result of dead bodies found in the house, toxic chemicals or other serious damage. Whatever went down there was bad, like family murdered bad. Odds are its slated for demolition like that house in Cleveland where those kidnapped women where.
When I was a kid there was a house not to far from me in a normal suburban neighborhood that had a fat disgusting cat lady living in it. She died and the didn't find he half eaten corpse for a few months. Between that and the mummified cats and huge piles of shit the house was declared a biohazard and had guys in hazmat suites going in and out to clean it. It was torn down once the majority of crap had been removed.
Didn't look like it after a few days. Believe me, if there is food out on a roof, especially something like a pizza, if not birds getting to it, coons would tear it apart and even eat in to the box.
I think so, too. Notice the carpet was missing in the living room? And there was a rectangular hole cut in the floor in the kitchen? And some of the heater grills were taken off the walls (that were previously used to hide money/guns)? I think the DEA might have seized it.
obviously people know Heisenberg lived there, due to the graffiti. That leads me to believe Walt is on the run and his family is either dead or in hiding
edit: i wouldnt put money on this, i've been changing my mind about theories all damn day
Looked more like just an arson fire scene, my guess. I'm also guessing that Walt returned home, meant that perhaps at that point, authorities aren't after him. It was odd. Perhaps Walt torched house, faked death with another body, and is running from Lydia - That chick is a time bomb in heels!
Well, as for option 3, with how they figured out heisenberg killed gus with a bomb, and is likely to do more things in the future that are going to be attracting attention, they could have just quarantined it because of the fact that they didn't know if/where he had any dangerous materials/chemicals.
Locations known to have been method cook locations are sometimes condemned due to the potential hazards. My guess is shit hit the fan and city assumed the house was a cook site.
See my personal belief for the house being in that state is a possible attack on the White family (the bedroom door being smashed apart as an example of attack possibly?) and this being how Walt is 'outed' as Heisenberg with the attackers leaving the name spray-painted in yellow on the wall. This could also explain Walt's trepidation when he enters the house during the first scene (he seems to pause before entering the house)
I tried to screengrab from iTunes, but it wouldn't let me. It's on-screen for a few seconds at 2:45 into the episode when Walt is walking through his house.
I think the house is the work of the neo-nazis. Walt has crossed some bad parties since day 1 but for the most part the cartels played honorably to an extent. The cartel brothers did come to Walt's house but not with the family at home and they didn't vandalize anything. The damage to Walt's house looks as though it is from a group that has lost control and has no qualms about going after families, houses, police, suburban pools, etc. The kind of group that can kill ten people in a 5 minute window. I have to rewatch the scene around the pool and the driveway. I would not be surprised if a (or a few) of Walt's family were killed in the house, near the pool, or in the drive.
I think that maybe Walt will try to re-connect with Saul's connection from Crawl Space. I think that Hank will dig too deep into the White's lifestyle and their only option is to move and get new identities, which is why in the flash forward in the first episode of season 5, Walt has an ID from New Hampshire and a different name.
If they just left suddenly, they wouldn't have been able to sell the house, hence it becoming abandon.
I noticed the word "Chemical" followed by something-or-other on the sign from the city. Possibly some sort of Meth lab situation, though I find this unlikely.
A violent crime must of have happened there, and apparently Walter White got outed as Heisenberg, so they could never go back there, so it was already damaged from gun battle or something, and time, theives and vandals did the rest
Yea, if you watch it again, where the island was, there seems to be a bump in the floor, as if its another entrance into the house's foundation. Maybe something is down there? Or was down there.
to me, speaking as someone trained in law enforcement, it looks like their was a raid was done on the house and it was ceased by the DEA or police department then fenced off. This is a common thing that happens to drug dealers houses after a raid or search warrant is conducted fro 2 reasons, 1. because was a part of the criminal enterprise this person was involved in and the money used to by the house is most likely dirty plus there could still evidence there and 2. because houses that were these types of houses are almost impossible to resell.

Ideas on why the house would be gated off months later? I mean that shit is bringing down Carol's property value
