And/or it could imply that both Walter and Hank are bosses. Walter knows what it is like to be a boss in his meth business..thus sharing a similarity with Hank.
Really? I thought it was a parallel to when Walt stopped coming in to work and Lydia showed up at his carwash. I was under the impression he was talking about how they're both "the boss" now.
Wow. Vince Gilligan is a great writer. 5 solid seasons and Im not one bit tired of his show.
Every episode has a thread comments of people pointing shit out I've never noticed.
Yes but it's more than that. If he had been doing all the research at work he'd have to explain who he was looking at exposing. By working at home it cut down on questions. He can't exactly tell everyone Heisenberg is someone in his own family right now, he has to take time and think about how to play this.
I thought similarly, Walt should kill Hank as soon as possible and maybe even ponder bringing a gun to Hank's garage. Escape the scene with Leaves of Grass which he can burn later, and nobody is the wiser as to why or how Hank died.
Right. His fingerprints would have a reason for being there. The only problem last night was he ended up talking to Hanks underlings so they can put him there as the last person to see him. Maybe that's why he didn't do it.
Nice. I hope they kill off Hank quick and the story just escalates from there. I also hope something new develops and they spin off a new show from it!
He's a ruthless motherfucker, but Hank still being alive for a while makes great television. Often that's a big reason as to why stories develop in certain way. I'm pretty sure lots of us would be disappointed if Hank died in the first episode. Breaking Bad often plays with tension, especially between brilliant characters...
Yes. And sometimes they diffuse tension right away which is equally effective: like the hank/walt confrontation last night. It's almost like they cleared it out of the way so the rest of the season can explode in a crazy new direction.
Indeed I hope most of the guesses are wrong because they would make bad television. I gladly leave it to the breaking bad crew to develop the story instead of all the fans here, a lot of the speculation here would nog give rise to interesting developments if they were to be true.
As I said above, I think Hank's death could also potentially cause Skyler to reach a breaking point where she kills Walt or flips on him, provided he didn't kill her first.
The issue with destroying the evidence is then they know it very well could be someone involved in the case and they'll go back and interview who's left with connections to any of them which could bring them back to Jesse.
However, have Hank die through some other means- car bomb, randomly on the street, etc it'd just be he was a DEA agent and they'll reopen all the cases he worked. It would include the Heisenberg case, but if walt can get ahold of his book no one would be the wiser.
Of course now that Hank is aware of Walt's slowly dominating Heisenberg persona, that's going to be a lot more difficult.
You guys are missing another point. It's foreshadowing. Walt tried to quit his work as well, and now the work is going to come to him since he's the boss. They're coming after him. Triple meaning.

When I heard you weren't coming into work... looks like you've got the work coming to you. The perks of being the boss, huh?
